Help! Double buggy advice needed

Hi there

I'm about to become a mum for the second time, and I already have a two-year-old daughter.

I'm really confused about what double buggy to get. I was eyeing up the Uppababy Vista and the BabyJogger CitySelect, but it doesn't seem like you can use these from birth with a toddler catered for simultaneously?

It seems the UppaBaby can't have the rumble seat and the carry cot attachment at the same time, so no good until new baby is sitting up in main pushchair; and the BabyJogger says it's suitable from 3 months, unless using carseat attachment, but I don't want to keep baby in the carseat the whole time...

Has anyone got any experience/advice? Can you recommend any other tandem buggies that might work?

I had the Out n about nipper & loved it.I used it for twins from birth with the new born supports. Its also good for two kids of different ages, I had my older one in it when he got tired & carried one of the twins.
Its very easy to stear & great on bumpy ground, grass etc.Slight down side is its quite cumbersome to fold if you're getting it in & out of a car alot. The pros definitely outweigh the cons though.

Doh, just realised that's not a tandem! What about the icandy pear?

You can get a carrycot for the city select.

The City Select is certainly suitable from birth if you get the carrycot fabric. It wouldn't be my first choice though with an already 2 year old.

The Vista is not ideal for newborn and toddler, you can only use either car seat and rumble seat or possibly you can wedge the main seat flat for a newborn?

The Babystyle Oyster Max can be used for toddler and newborn without a carrycot attachment although that is also an option.

The iCandy Peach Blossom 2 is lovely but needs a carrycot for the baby and hefty budget

The Smyths Toys Dimples Duo does the same as the Oyster Max in that the baby lies flat in the top seat facing you with the toddler facing forward in the lower seat but at half the price of the Max you certainly notice the difference in quality and it is also wider and longer although not ridiculously so.

Have you got any specific requirements?

I am having the same dilemma, tandems are a total minefield! I have narrowed it down to the Jane twone (like the car seat that turns into a carrycot) plus it's lovely to push and feels light and the oyster max. The britax b dual looks good but it's like a bus compared to the other two, I also found the city select too big too

I just got the babystyle oyster max. It's great. I would recommend it.

Check how your toddler fits in the front seat on the Britax B Duel. My 23 month old was very tall and didn't fit the seat. We ended up with the Jane Powertwin and it has been great. Easier to use than the Phil and Teds side by side I had had for DC1 and DC2.
