Uppababy vista, M&Ps sola - thoughts/experiences or other suggestions?

Hi, I'm 27 weeks and thinking it's high time I bought something. So, looking at prams. Plan mainly going to the shops, sometimes going a bit off-road eg canal tow-paths, occassional short train journeys. Keen for a full carry cot and seat that has the option of parent facing when gets to the pushchair stage.

I had a look last week and liked the look of the Uppababy Vista and also the Mamas and Papas Sola. Any thoughts, pros and cons of these two? Anything else I should be considering?

Car is a ford focus, not yet tried either in the boot.

Thanks x

I have a vista which I love. Well made and the carrycot is lovely. pushes brilliantly - I can push to town and back one handed including kerbs. turns on a sixpence. But it is very wide and fairly heavy so it depends whether that's a problem. I wouldn't enjoy it on a bus or in a small shop for example, though it will fit.

I haven't tried a sola I'm afraid but sure someone will have.

Enjoy the shopping whatever you decide!

Leave the Sola and focus on the Vista :) You wont get much better than the Vista really and the Sola is nothing like as good, and wears badly.

Look also at the Baby Jogger Versa, Mutsy Evo, Bugaboo Cameleon (or the new Buffalo), iCandy Peach or Peach Jogger.... hmm and theres probably more but its too late for my brain to think! Those are probably the best though :)

Love love love my vista! I use it on buses too and although wide there is usually additional space for a quinny or stroller. The price is good value for the package and pushes really well. Didn't find it too heavy pushing days after my c-section when I was generally feeling quite weak.

Really would not recommend a Sola, I hated mine.

Not had a vista but I have only heard bad things about the sola and good things about the vista Smile

I do have a Versa GT and love it to bits. It's amazing.

I can't remember the issue with the hood, but some people have put City Select hoods on. They dont fit perfectly but could be worth a look.
