3 in a BJCM double?

Sooooo, somehow I have ended up with a 2.10 yr old, a 1.5 yr old and a newborn Shock

I'm sure I've read on here somewhere before that if you put the newborn in some sort of supporty thing, then the eldest could perch on the end of that seat for occasional rides- has anyone done this, and could you tell me what sort of cocoony thing might do the trick?

coughs I have done this, but I absolutely must stress its not safety approved....but with a terribly limited choice of triple options I know it can work well as long as you accept the risks / be vigilant.
It works by putting the middle child on their own seat, the newborn at the very back of the recline harnessed in - either in some kind of soft squidgy cocoon / baby nest - more of a baby footmuff than soft cot IYKWIM or just on the seat pad with or without blankets - and then your eldest sits square on the seat pad in front harnessed in with an additional harness (reins). You have to be sure that your eldest is sensible enough not to lean back, and there's usually a good view through the peekaboo window or over the top. It wont work if your eldest needs to nap unless you swap the elder two around. But given your eldest is almost 3, I bet you wouldnt need this arrangement for more than a few months. I am absolutely lacing this with safety warnings and have a look for yourself. I have only tried it with Baby Joggers.

I would get your eldest off scooting on a Mini Micro scooter now, so that they are proficient by the time the baby arrives, and invest in a scooter tug to keep them under control!!

Brilliant, thanks Tiggy, that's what I thought. And yes I totally appreciate the generous sprinkling of safety warnings!

As you say though, it's really tricky to find an alternative. I have managed to fit a buggy board onto the back of my Peach Blossom (again, not recommended, and would invalidate the warranty- but mine is outside this anyway). But it had novelty value for about 10 minutes and after that the little terror started stropping that he wanted to sit in the main pram.

We have a scooter already, but it would mean travelling everywhere at the speed of slug.

I think I just need to face the prospect of never leaving the house ever again!

Would it not work to put the baby in the sling for a few months and have the others in the pram ? If one wants to walk then baby takes their place ? I reckon it will be only for a few months that you will have an issue.

I've got a BJCM for my soon to arrive newborn and 2 year old - can anyone please tell me if I need to get a special insert for the newborn, and where I can get one?! Thanks!

Flaming Gallah have you seen anywhere about the easy x rider buggyboard? here I had one and it was ace for shorter walks... might see you through a short time.. probably not on the peach blossom but on a side by side double.. Grin worth a look at the link anyway

Thank you for the further suggestions! I'm loving the look of the easy rider, wish I'd seen that before I bought the buggy board. I don't think it sticks out enough to fit behind a Peach Blossom alas.

I do have a sling but am post c section so won't be able to wear it for a while.

Serves me right for having 3 kids so close together!

My friend has my easy x rider now, if you like i can measure how far back it will go, it's very adjustable really. Also you could contact the website or on their fb page, they may be able to tell you the distance it can be set back. I agree it probably won't fit on the blossom though :-(

That would be fab if you don't mind, ihateparties? Thank you! The maximum distance from where it attaches to the frame, to the front edge of the seat would be really helpful. I'll have a look at their website too.

I'll try and get to it this weekend if I can, I'm assuming she has it out of the loft now given her baby is due next week :-/ I'm trying to remember, I had it on a b agile with carrycot on and it wouldn't fit once I put the seat fabrics back on if you wanted to recline the seat. This is what makes me sure it won't go on the peach with the blossom kit on.
