Jane Muum, reviews please.

We had a second hand travel system for DD, then used a Maclaren buggy. All have been passed on as wasn't expecting to need them again. I'm intending to use a sling and pushchair from birth. Will be driving and mostly out and about in town, will not be off road! Really like what I've seen of the Jane Mumm. Anyone got one? What are the pros and the cons. Thanks.

I have a twone and love it for the most part, did order and return a muum before the twone came out so got a good look at it. The frame and wheels are identical except the twone main seat is on diagonal post things, the muum ones are straight so the seat is nearer to you. The muum is also a lie flat type seat as oppose to a bucket one. I think it is suitable from 6 months however the recline is very near flat so I'm not totally sure why this is the case. I think there is still a pic on my profile of it fully reclined. I guess you would be getting a carrycot though?

It's light, easy to push and turn, folds with the seat both ways. I believe that the fold is optimum with the seat parent facing, which is handy for in and out of the car. I don't remember doing the fold so I can't comment on its ease. The twone is very easy though.

Possible cons, the lightness could be construed as flimsiness, I can totally see how some people might dislike the 'feel' of it. There is movement on the centre joint of the chassis, so the handlebar will move up and down by about an inch. This has not so far caused me a problem after 7 months of almost daily use with two children but it's worth a mention as you may not like the 'feel' of it. I think it is something to do with comfort for child and pusher, ie as you walk along the handle moves with the bumps on the pavement so it's less jarring.. I dunno, I'm guessing.

Longevity is an unknown, there aren't many reviews, I don't really know why. Have you seen one irl or can get to see one?

I have seen the Muum briefly but had a Twone and I can see ihateparties comments fit. What I hated is the fabric - its like a nylon which pulls. It reminds me of stockings! You can feel the foam underneath and move the fabric on top. Mine got "pulled" easily by small finger nails.

Thanks very much. Have had a good look at one in pram shop close to us. Am hoping to use it from birth and wasn't going to bother with a carry cot. Used the pram bit of the old travel system about 4 times out and about as used sling more than pram.

On paper i don't see why it wouldn't last through toddler hood if you want it too. Despite the feel the frame is clearly fine for carrying two so yes really, don't see why not
