advice needed re rear facing

hello

i'm looking for advice re rear facing strollers for my ds who is 2yrs 4mos.

he is currently in a relatively crappy cheapo stroller which i had thought would last out until we didnt need a buggy anymore.

however he got bacterial meningitis last year, and is now profoundly deaf anf with balance problems,hence i will be needing a buggy longer than anticipated.

i need a buggy that is rear facing so that i can signto him whilst we are out and about. he's quite a chunk as well.

i'm a single mum so i do t have A huge amouny of money to spend so looking realisrically at second hand buy dont know where to start with diffrrent models.

any suggestions

My son is 2 and still in his babystyle oyster which we love; you can pick them up second hand for about £100 where I live; my friend uses a Loola which she paid £40 for second hand however it's very heavy with her toddler in.

I would also say avoid a loola. I loved mine but its heavy with an older child and my dd is also big for her age. She couldn't fit in it very well after the age if two as her head was touching the hood.

I have found the oyster to have a really small seat unit so not much good for older children. Just thought maybe check out the Hauck infinity - the dont make them any more but there are always a fair few on eBay, and really cheap like £30/£40! They have a fairly decent sized seat unit and a couple of tyres on the back which might make it easier to push. I haven't ever tried one out but they look good xx

How big is he? M&P sola is nice to push and my average sized nearly 3 fits in still, second hand they'd be nice and cheap.

I have two Loolas for my twins (when out with two adults, obviously!).

I like them. I think they're easy to push, easy to fold, stand up on their ends to store them, fold with seat attached (whichever way it's facing), and they seem big - plenty of growing room for my two, who are 2yrs 3 months.

The Oyster has a really big sized seat. People don't push the hood right up the frame though which makes the seat look smaller.

Look in charity shops and try them out..

he's average height but heavy and i am tiny! what are quinnys like in terms of weight?

Sola has a nice big seat, what about a bugaboo maybe a chameleon or frog you can pick them up pretty cheap on ebay or nania beebop is a copy basically.
Anything with rear air tyres tends to push easier, have you considered a my3/4 ?

The buzz is only a small seat i think ur lucky if youd get a 2 yr old in one

I would second the Hauck infinity. I have one and the seat unit accomodated my dd1 till she was 3 and ds2 till 2 and he was always big for his age. Its really easy to push. Have just got the carrycot for it off ebay for £10 and there were loads on there and quite cheap too. Hth

A teutonia?I have the spirit s3 and it has a large seat, easy to push and they go cheaply on Ebay.

have you tried out an Njoy Bubble yet? It's the smallest/lightest I can think of but I'm not sure how people find it parent facing with a bigger child...

I have loved my britax vigour3 pushchair which is now superceded by newer models, but is rear or front facing as you wish, and suited my little boy until well after 3 years.
You can get them second hand very good price on ebay
Also a massive shopping basket underneath, which, with a bungee cord, holds a few bags of shopping
