Versa. Do I need gt?

So I am going to sell my sola as I'm peeved with it already, only had it 3 months..... I am after a versa now. We live in the country so can't avoid bumpy tracks but I'm not the rambling type so mostly just need it for pavements and the occasional walk in the woods. Expert opinion? Gt or normal????

I recently made this decision. I figured i'd be using it on normal surfaces 80% of time and walks on rougher terrain the rest. When testing them out I found the gt a bit heavier and harder suspension wise so ended up going for normal versa as that seemed to be able to cope the vast majority of the time. Think its a v personal choice so test them out if you can.

I have the gt, and though haven't tested it outdoors yet I love the wheels. I would not swap! and I live in a town, and just want them for rough pavements and cobbles and so on but still - I just really like these wheels. I'd rather softer wheels than extra suspension tbh.

It's 1.1kg heavier than the normal versa, and it is heavy to lift but not to push. I haven't tried the normal versa btw.

I got mine from Lesters, they are 369 as opposed to 329 for the normal versa, so worthwhile imo. Unless you really wanted another colour in which case get the ordinary one!

Thanks for the replies..... That is a good price Rooney. Cheaper than John Lewis. I will give them a call. So one for gt and one against....hmmmm. Not sure there are any stockists near me wheich is a pain.

Oh we have no stockists either. I asked my local shop if they'd get it in and they said they had no plans o as it's similar to the Oyster, well it's not imo but there you go...

The only thing I don't like about it is the fold that brings he footrest up with it, (always should be in two parts imo, footrest, backrest) and no variable recline, and the fabrics are a bit, well not as nice as the shiny stuff on the BJCM iyswim. Other than that it is wonderful - the chassis is beautiful, the seat fold is incredibly good, no bad points. The gt wheels make it even better, and slightly higher I think, and very slightly narrower? Not sure but they go much better with it I think.

I've ordered the standard Versa, which is due to arrive next week. I love the idea of the GT wheels as they look cool, but was worried about having a 13kg pushchair as I'm no Geoff Capes. Also thought the all wheel suspension on the standard would be better for curbs, etc. I'm mainly going to wheeling on pavements (not the smoothest, mind) and around town and over a few rough patches on way to the park and up the river.

I didn't know about the recline. That is a bit rubbish..... One other thing I would like to ask is about the position of the seat when it is fully upright, is it very upright. My LO likes to be upright not slumped back. He is very nosey.

I'm a bit confused about the recline. Do you mean because it's a bucket seat, so the whole seat moves when you recline it rather than just the backrest? I was assuming the Versa's seat worked the same way as other bucket seat pushchairs like the bugaboo Chameleon, UppaBaby Vista, etc. Is this not so good for the baby back or something?

I much prefer bucket seats on a pushchair. As an adult I prefer to be tilted back with my legs up than be laid back from the waist down. Also you have to adjust straps each time you recline a child with a lie flat from the middle seat.
Bucket seats are fine for a child over the age of 6 months.

Sorry. What I meant by no variable recline was that it doesn't have the facility to recline to any chosen position - just the three pre set ones.

Just being fussy there, I prefer the thing with the straps to recline.

I'm sure bucket seats aren't bad for their backs. Only putting my personal preference, that's all, I like the backrest and footrest to be separate.

I haven't tried it properly yet - there was some minor damage on the seat frame when it arrived so I'm waiting for a replacement frame.

Also ds3 is only 5 weeks so not sure it will be suitable yet! Can't wait to try it though Smile
