M&P Sola

Any opinions?

I am looking at this for our baby that will be born in April - I already have a maxi cosi carseat and I believe this will fit into the chassis.

It says that it is suitable from birth, but I would buy the carry cot too for long summer walks (hopefully!!!) and for naps in the house.

It says that it has been improved - does anyone have this or can you recommend an alternative? I am looking for lightweight, with a reversible seat which folds up nice and small.

I have one and really love it, the adapters for the car seat are about £25, though you could prob pick them up on eBay for cheaper. Dd is nearly a year now and I'll prob change to a lightweight buggy soon but we've had a good year with this. Only thing is wouldn't recommend the matching footmuff, it hangs really low and doesn't cover baby very well, I bought a buggy snuggle instead which keeps baby really cosy.

Having to take the seat unit off to fold when in rear facing mode drives me bonkers. Mine also takes up a lot of space in the boot- we now don't use ours in the car and keep a buggy in there instead.

I loved my sola. So much so that when I had DS2 I sold DD's pink one and bought the green one. I sold mine after 12 months and bought the Urbo and I really wish I hadn't, the Sola was so much nicer.

I've been really happy with mine on the whole. It is one of the lightest out there (i have a bad back so this was a priority). Also it is very easy to open, close & slot the seat/ carry cot onto.

I can't remember not being able to fold it down with the seat rear-facing though

Agree foot muff doesn't come up very high but I have just not used the fold-over & it's fine.

We had one because on paper it looks amazing but ours has broken 4 times since we bought it a year ago!

Apparently there's a common fault with wheels popping out (they're removable so you can fit it in a small car) - ours have done it several times, once when crossing a busy road, and the buggy nearly tipped over. Recently a front wheel completely snapped off - the casing and actual metal work inside just snapped and we were just on a pavement! We haven't been misusing the buggy, just general day to day in town, no rough terrain.

M&P are very good at fixing issues straight away, but it's gotten a bit silly now tbh. I think it's very cheaply made, and no good if you use it very regularly and have a bigger child.

I'd go for something else!

Crikey, thanks extracrunchy that doesn't sound good at all. Will maybe rethink then, intending to use it every day.

I don't love my Sola. The seat unit has a fault and flips backwards sometimes, M&P will send out a new one but its still unpleasant for you and for baby!

I don't feel that the straps are long enough, DD is 10 months and quite tall and I struggle to do them up with her snowsuit on.

The footmuff is awful and doesn't keep baby warm as it only comes up to around their hips.

However, I do love that it is rear and forward facing. It folds up easily. The swivel wheels make it easy to manoeuvre.

The hassle with the seat put me off, but other than that its a nice pram and my daughter finds it comfortable.

I like it but I don't love it. For the price I wish I had bought a second hand bugaboo.
