Any news, rumours, whispers etc about when this will be available in berry bonbon or parma violet? Not keen on silver and want something more exciting than black!

Ooh, rockchick, can I be cheeky, and add another peach blossom question to your thread?

I love this pushchair but bit worried about the size of the carrycot in double mode as dd is 98th centile for height, so presumably there's some risk that new baby will also be a giant. And the carrycot is tiny tiny. I would prefer to keep new baby flat until near 6 months. I think I saw Tiggywunkle and ihateparties discussing padding the seat out to make it flat(ter). I've found one foam insert thing on t'internet but it doesn't look big enough. And won't the leg rest sil be too high? Ladies, do you have expert advice for me on doing this please? (Bows to your superior knowledge.)

Argh! I really like the peach blossom but I want more than a few weeks of flat baby!

The carrycot is small in comparison to others, I suspect that tiggy will have a measurement. You could look at the smartmuff but I have not seen it in the double seat of the PB2 specifically so can't really promise it will work well as such, The baby would then obviously lie flat in line with the top of the seat. I'm not sure how I would feel about that for a newborn, there would be a lack of side protection.

When I used a stokke wedge in my PB1 my baby was over 3m, it worked perfectly at that age (this was last year NO hope of a pb2 blossom kit back then). Her back was straight, there was about a 1-2 inch lip to the height of the footrest but that was at the leg/bum point so she looked perfectly comfortable. If there isn't already a pic on my profile I'll stick one on so you can get an idea of how the wedged seat looks.

TBH I think had I got the pram before she was born I would have got a carrycot (I too have had a 98th centile baby in the past in our case the following ones weren't as big but I know they sometimes are and bigger).

I'm sure Tiggy said that all the colours are now released so in theory you should just be able to order one from an iCandy retailer...

I emailed pramworld and they said they don't have a release date for the blossom in either of the colours I like, can get the single peach in all colours though Sad

Oh bum, she must have meant the single then I guess. Black with parma or berry liners?? You never know how long you're going to have to wait with iCandy Hmm

ihateparties, thank you! You really do know about this!

I will certainly buy a carrycot if I do get the peach blossom, and as I did with dd, just squeeze the new baby in for as long as possible. I didn't swop to the pushchair until she started putting her feet over the edge of the pram!

That smartmuff looks great. And will make me feel better about moving a baby out of the carrycot. Baby is due at start of August so would be great to have something warm if the carrycot has to be abandoned in autumn.

I hope the other colours are available by then, or rather in a few months. (John Lewis told me there was a 3 month waiting period...) I'm with you Rockchick, the other colours are much nicer, and partly why it's turned my head!

Thanks again!

I have seen Peach Blossom 2 pushchairs in photos in all colours. Its worth phoning round a few places and asking what they have in stock, on order and when its arriving. I know stock is still difficult on the Peach / Blossom Kit. Also its worth separating the Peach Blossom out from the Blossom Kit. I know it sounds like a technicality but I have heard people say that they couldn't get them, but could get the two parts separately!! The iCandy Facebook Page - and the posts by others is a good place to see who has what in stock!

The Peach Blossom carrycot is small, but I would get one and use it for as long as you possibly can - you are more likely to think your baby is squashed than he/she is :) But equally I have been following the progress of one small at birth baby, and she had grown out of the carrycot by 5 months. They have a good resale value so treat it like a rental :)

Thankyou tiggy and ihateparties just had a look on iCandy Facebook and they've said they should be confirming dates for the blossom colours I like "soon" so who knows maybe I might be lucky (seeing as how I'm still TTC so got at least 9 months until I need it) :)

I have a Peach Blossom 1 and have managed to sell both upper and lower carrycots for over 1/2 their RRP on Gumtree so it should be pretty easy for you to get some money back once baby grows out of the carrycot (and yes, they are small, especially the lower one - my DD was 2nd centile and outgrew it by about 5 months)

Great. I am all for squashing them in! And good to know I can sell a carrycot without selling the whole lot.

Getting quite excited now!

I have the PB2 and no regrets at all. I've just written a review on it on MN. My baby is on the small side but nearly 5m and still just in the carrycot - he seems to be quite happy, very cosy. I guess they've been in a pretty small space for the last 9 m! However, I will have to swap him over soon. But anyway, the cocoon on the P&T looks pretty small to me. In fact when I tried the new P&Ts in the shop with a baby doll they lent me I couldn't get the legs under the top seat. I also like the black (the only one available when I got it) - I know its boring but dirt doesn't show up and I don't get tired of the colour.

And I just got my upgraded peach blossom 1 chassis back and converter kit in black magic with a blackjack footmuff - so now I have a peach blossom 2 that doesn't quite match but so far seems fantastic!! The twins love it!!

Is it worth paying the extra for a new PB2, rather than a used PB1?

Yes! Well, it's worth getting the 2 blossom kit at least, i would go so far as saying you need that. I had a used blossom 1 that had had a new chassis under warranty a month before i got it so was immaculate, only the seat was really used. Be aware though with new some of the money you are spending is on the warranty so may be well spent.

If you buy a PB1 you can pay £50 to get it altered then buy a PB2 converter kit. Unfortunately they've changed the colours but you can get a matching footmuff to match old colours (and hood too if you really mind!)

So I would buy a used PB1 (but just a single not a double) then buy a new converter kit, carry cot and footmuff

I thought the seats on the PB2 are supposed to be bigger which might be worthwhile if you are want to make sure its comfortable for a toddler. My toddler is 2.5 and very happy in the seat but I've not tried the PB1 so can't compare.

Ihateparties · 29/01/2013 20:53

The main seat is the same, it's only the 2nd seat and blossom carrycot that are different sizes.

Its absolutely best to buy the PB2 kit. As others have said it can go on an older Peach single pushchair, and have a conversion done for £50, or you can buy a new pushchair in a matching colour. But the lower seat will last you up to 3/4 times longer than the PB1 one did.

Ohmygosh, I can't work out if it's possible to pm you. So can I just ask here, how much of a good deal? What did you pay for which bits?

Thank you!
