Bugaboo bee or petite star Njoy?

Hi thanks for any advice you can give me, I currently have a bugaboo gecko which I love, but DS is 13 months and I really would like a one-piece folding buggy to throw in the car boot. I'm not ready to give up rear facing yet, so can only think of the two above which meet these two criteria.

Bee would be bought second hand and Njoy new so the cost is about the same I think.

I like the njoy a lot but it doesn't half look daft to the oncoming traffic pf with the seat sitting up. Like you.re pushing an empty buggy as the front seat bit with harness etc is what you see from infront. That said personally i'd probably have to get over myself on this one in exchange for the sturdier feel...

I hadn't heard of the njoy, so I just took a look at it and it looks very nifty a really clever idea. I've no idea which one you should buy by the way

I have had both and would without question get the Bee.

The Petite Star NJoy Up Bubble is essentially an umbrella fold pushchair with fixed handles, limited basket space and a long fold. I agree with ihateparties the Bubble looks really odd from the front when you see it approaching with no child in the front, but you wont care less from the back!! But you will see people do a double take! I don't like the side to side movement that there is in the handles and I found it a little flappy to carry because its so long. Its really easy to swap the seat from forward to reverse facing. The seat is big. I like the height off the floor for feet when PF. It is sturdy to push and fundamentally if you like an umbrella fold then you will like it.

The Bee is just a better quality pushchair. TBH its really not fair to put the two pushchairs side by side. The Bee has more adjustability eg handle height, better seat, more storage, is better quality, can be customised etc. It is just very lovely to use. The fold is more rectangular than the Bubble and takes two hands. The downsides of the Bee are that you may well find one wheel is off the ground when cornering because it is so light. I think its better through the summer than the winter as footmuffs get in the way of the fold. Turning the seat around is a PITA. But the fold is just so beautiful and thats why mine stays!!

Its very subjective though....and I am trying to be objective because I dont think the Bee is perfect either. I have a love / hate relationship with my Bee

Have you seen both? I think the Bubble is easier to imagine if you haven't seen it. It took me a long time to get to grips with the Bee and how it works and be comfortable with it. The Bubble is definitely the easier option. If you are prepared to get to grips with the Bee, I think you will have a nicer experience.

My heart says Bee, as I adore my gecko. I've not seen the Njoy in the flesh but it looks good on a video. The umbrella fold appeals to me, but I think what you said about the handles might just clinch it. I'd forgotten how annoying separate handles can be.

You mentioned a Babyzen Yoyo on another thread, would you recommend it?

I forgot to say the cost is quite different too but you had already pointed that out.

The NJoy is good - dont get me wrong but as a comparison the Bee is better.

The YoYo - sighs - its fabulous BUT it does what it says on the tin. Its a small folding, neat to sling on your back or fit into a tiny space in the car, great to travel with pushchair. We use ours nearly every day but alongside a bigger pushchair. I am not sure I could only have a YoYo - although TBH we probably could try..... But it is basic, but works well. Its got a good recline and the child can also sit very upright if they wish. Its got a high handle and the fold is inspirational. The basket is just enough for my handbag, drinks etc. Its not a shopping pushchair though! But if thats what you need, then the YoYo does the job. But it is functional but good to push. If you put it in the same class as a Zapp then thats where it fits IYKWIM. I love the taller handle on it though and the fold in unbeatable. I love wowing people by picking it up and it folding down to nothing. Even pushchair shop owners are constantly impressed by it.
