Which pushchair for a supermini

Hi all,

New to the forum so i apologise if im asking a question thats already been answered on here somewhere.

My other half and I are expecting our first son/daughter on 23/05/13 and are currently scouring the internet/trundling around shops trying to find the right pushchair. The only problem is is that the only car we have (and can afford at the mo) is a Fiat 500.

Idealy we would have a travel system with the Fiat only being a 3 door. So far we've seen/considered the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe but this seems quite large even when folded down.

Any suggestions on a suitable pushchair would be greatly appreciated

Just a quick reply. Forget the word 'travel system'. There's loads of baby car seats and loads of pushchairs which take baby car seats but you don't need to buy them as a 'travel system' eg a Maxi Cosi seat would fit a Quinny Zapp / Extra. Its more a case of finding the right pyshchair eith a car seat that fits in your car, and with a base that firs if thats what you need. I know base 'legs' can be an issue but Chicco make a base with no 'leg'. The Petite Zia Evolve could be worth a look.

Baby Jogger City Mini folds very flat and not too large, and takes a Maxi Cosi Cabrio Fix. You don't need a base either, but make sure that your car seat belts are long enough to strap the infant seat in before you dismiss using a base. As you say, it might be a case of finding which car seat(s) fir your car - there may not be a lot of choice. Do Fiat make one?

This discussion is a few years old, but might give you some pointers.

What about using the front passenger seat? We did, as we had a van.

When I say you don't need a base, I mean you don't need a car seat isofix base in your car. You do need a chassis-base type thing to push the baby around - unless you just use a sling?

I would recommend a base though (not necessarily an isofix one though) because of the car being a 3 door one. Ours is 3 door and believe me the base was invaluable. There's no way I could have clambered into the 6 inches behind my seat and put a seat belt around a baby seat now let alone post C-Section!
