P&T navigator & double kit & cocoon question - help!

We have bought a brand new phil and ted navigator with double kit and cocoon. We have a dd two yrs and will have a newborn shortly. We thought we could use the cocoon in the double kit with toddler on the main seat. So the cocoon would slide underneath, now it does and it seems to fit/be safe but dh is worried this isn't actually correct. He thinks the cocoon should be in the reclined main seat meaning you cannot use the double kit. And therefore the chair in this configuration only suits one child.

The instructions don't mention the cocoon fitting at all, and I can't find anything out on google and also emailed P&T but no response.

How are people using this thing?

Thanks a lot

Assuming the navigator is the same as othe P&T models, the main seat lies flat with the cocoon in then the doubles seat attaches to the front with the elbows which should have come with the doubles seat.

I believe you are correct that the newborn phase is like the other P&Ts. Funnily enough I was playing with the Dot & Navigator only yesterday but the Dot was in newborn phase and we converted it to 2 toddler mode but never tried with the Navigator. <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=navigator+Phil+ted+cocoon&um=1&hl=en&tbo=d&biw=1277&bih=899&tbm=isch&tbnid=4FnOmgdgNUcd5M:&imgrefurl=www.babydino.com/phil-and-teds-dot-flint&docid=xFTErOHBhSRlHM&imgurl=www.babydino.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/d/o/dot_lieflat_cocoon_single.jpg&w=1060&h=1060&ei=xabpUIXUMcvL0AWyn4G4Aw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=725&vpy=433&dur=2033&hovh=224&hovw=224&tx=113&ty=116&sig=110811326055443351946&page=2&tbnh=149&tbnw=150&start=38&ndsp=47&ved=1t:429,r:58,s:0,i:264" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">This is a photo of the Dot in newborn phase, and I would assume like you say the Navigator doubles kit goes on top to start with, with the baby on the main seat underneath.
I am sure the lower seat is only meant from 6 months old.

start at around 4 mins 30 secs.

They dont seem to use a cocoon - just alter the seat liner to the newborn size and use the harness which is great as I like babies strapped in. However I bet it makes it harder to get the baby in and out.

To clarify op's dh is right, you cannot use the cocoon on the double seat itself, i'm surprised you can even slot it in really, it must be at quite an angle??

Hiccup, u were right! We tried other ways but forgot about that one entirely. Tiggy thanks for the posts/video, very helpful too and u too Ihate.

Thank god, thought we had bought wrong one and was feeling quite sick......

Much appreciated
