Help! Brain freeze! Please recommend a lightweight occasional-use stroller - I want to love the Maclaren Globetrotter but all the reviews are bad!

Please help, I've been looking at pushchairs online all day and I've driven myself slightly loopy! I no longer even know my own name! Confused Please can someone just tell me what to buy! Grin

My DD is 7 months old and her primary pushchair is an iCandy Peach, which I LOVE and intend to continue using for all extended trips out. However I need to buy a basic lightweight compact umbrella stroller, which I can use to take DD on the short walk to and from nursery and will fit in their pram shed. I imagine we'll also use it for short trips to the shops / travelling on holiday in the future when DD can walk. Ideally I'd like this second stroller to last until DD is at least 3 (or whenever toddlers no longer need a stroller?)

The Maclaren Volo looks great, but I really want a stroller that reclines at least a little. Unless the lack of recline has been unnecessary for other Mums? The Maclaren Globetrotter looks like it should be the obvious solution, but there are so many bad reviews! My main concern is that most people seem to think the backrest is too short to use for a child over the age of 2? The Maclaren XT seems a little on the heavy side but if that's my only option then I guess it seems fine - ish? I've also come across the Jane Energy and a few others, but to be honest there's just too much choice! Can some kind soul please just tell me what to buy (and their top pros/cons for their recommendation please!)

Found myself in a similar situation a number of months back. I kept adding up the pros and cons of different lightweight strollers. In the end, I looked in the buggy shed at nursery, and decided that it would get bashed around a lot! I went on to Gumtree and just looked for people selling pushchairs in my area...picked up a barely used Mamas+Papas Tempo for £25 with a raincover. Does the job perfectly, reclines if DS falls asleep, and I don't need to worry about it getting chucked around. I would recommend the second hand option and seeing what's around especially as you love your main buggy so much (which I did too).

I've got a Maclaren Techno (actually got 2 Blush)

Both bought second hand, 1 lives in the boot of the car, the other at my mums.

I have a Silvercross Sleepover as my main pram and I use it all the time as during the week we are carless but the Maclaren ticked all the boxes for a lightweight.

One cost £10 and the other, slightly newer cost £30, both had raincovers.

Just got a maclaren quest (on eBay but brad new) and its excellent. Reclines, lightweight, easy to manoeuvre with one hand.
