help suggest a double buggy/pram

well now DD has arrived early and the cold weather is here my buggy requirements have changed a bit.

ideally would want something 2nd hand, so dont loose too much as only want to use over the winter.

love dd to be in pram facing me... then a seat for DS... then really could do with it being suitable for off road - have a phil & teds but it is broken at the moment, so could get that fixed, but rather DD faced me - any thoughts on options?

the only off road tandem I can think of that fits what you want is a tfk joggster twist with a multi x convertible carrycot/seat and a buddy seat. Side by sides um... off road and parent facing.. donkey? If you're only bothered about short term parent facing there's plenty of side by sides with carrycot options - mountain buggies, easywalker duo, tfk etc.

just want DD to face me as a baby really as once she is in the seat unit we will use uppababy and ds will be fine walking/on buggy board etc

Are you looking for a tandem or side by side? Side by sides easier to find with what you want. I'm sure you could pick up a cheap mb duo and carrycot on ebay or similar :-)

I agree....I can't think of any off road tandem that really works other than the TFK Joggster Twist but I dont like that there are no wheel guards by the lower seat - possibly the Mountain Buggy +One if you think it could meet your short term needs.
Side by sides are easier - Easywalker Duo, TFK Twinner Twist Duo, Bugaboo Donkey, Baby Jogger City Mini GT or Elite, Mountain Buggy Duo etc.

I have a Jane powertwin, but it doesnt do rear facing - I love it and it was only £80 second hand with raincovers and 2 foot muffs etc.

hmmm mb duo would prob be ideal as could go in the caravan afterwards, for flyball... shame dont have anywhere near £500 though :(

weird,it will be time of year though. I' m putting off listing things until after Xmas,maybe other people are too. Bother. No bright ideas where else to look, sorry.

going to pick up an easywalker duo tomorrow and having 2nd thoughts - will mostly be for over the winter for school runs and then live in the caravan for weekends away with the dogs in fields... but am worried is going to be too huge and too heavy - any experiences??

Not directly, I have a friend who had the sky, the single version and loved it, especially for winter. I remember reading recently somewhere else someone got the duo and loved it too. It will be a bit large and heavy but well built and sounds right for what you were looking for. Reading back and seeing you have a uppababy... vista I'm assuming.. then down the line you could maybe look into the rumble seat for that, when the baby is older and you don't need such a permanent double option. I know if it were me I would find that useful, to have a single that could act as a double when required, even if it's not ideal. Hope you like the duo!

I have had the Easywalker Duo and its lovely. Really well built - chunky wheel sockets and chassis. But it folds really neatly and was fab to push. I really like it. Great quality.

right we have got it and it is lovely!! :) but HUGE!!! it will be great for waht we need though! :) Just need to get a carrycot for it now!!
Yes we have a vista and LOVE it and also have a rumble seat - I was hoping to muddle though with that until DD was big enough for the seat unit, but she was 7 weeks early and although 9 weeks now she is still only just 5lb - so will be tiny for a while and really needs to be flat as much as possible - so yes the easywalker will be a short term winter fix and then go in our caravan for use with the dogs in fields most weekends over the summer - imagine even at 3 DS will need strapping in as turning into a really stroppy little monkey!! With the aim to selling it next October time.... at least that is the plan! :)
