Are they still having stock issues? If you have ordered one recently how long did it take? We're looking to buy one after Christmas. Thanks

Do you mean the Strawberry? Watching with interest, as we have a Cherry (purchased for dd1 in early 2010), but considering upgrading to a Strawberry for dd2.

I thought all models were having stock issues? We still haven't decided which one we want yet!!

I managed to get a strawberry about a month ago. I was trying to order it during October through John Lewis, but they didn't even know when their next order would be taken, so couldn't give any guarantee I'd have it by the end of January when DC is due.

Eventually I emailed other stockists in London. They were all in the same position except one who had a couple still in stock from their previous delivery.

Go on their facebook page and say where you are and what you are after, if a stockist in your area has one they usually post and tell you. Quite a few people have managed to get one fairly quickly by doing this.

That's good to know thanks. Baby isn't due till June so we have plenty of time but I remember reading that some people had been advised to order as soon as they got the BFP! Now we are past 12 weeks I though it might be worth getting our name down if they are in such high demand

I personally wouldn't put my name down. Their facebook page is often full of people complaining that they ordered very early on and have paid in full and some are still waiting at their due date if not after. Unless I could walk away with it that day or the stockist could prove they had it coming in the next allocation (they find out 4 weeks prior to them getting it in) then I certainly wouldn't be ordering in advance with iCandy's track record.

newtonupontheheath · 03/12/2012 12:51

I ordered mine in June and it hasn't arrived by mid-November (baby born in October) I went on their fb page and found a local-ish stockist with spare stock. We are in manchester and travelled 45minutes. There seemed to be a lot more stock down south though.

Depending what you want, get on fb or ring round and you may be able to pick one up this week!

Congratulations on your pregnancy

I agree with the others. Retailers place orders and iCandy fulfil them. A popular shop may have a waiting list for months. Another shop up the road may have stock sat on their showroom floor. Its definitely worth doing a search on the iCandy website for your local stockists - choose the nearest say 5-10 and phone them all round, once you know precisely which model you want!! Every retailer will give you a different answer I suspect.

well after hearing about all the stock issues with icandy, me and dp ordered our icandy strawberry from john lewis a month ago and was told february was the earliest it would be in stock, which suits us fine as baby due early april...today shock of shock have had a phone call from John Lewis to say it has been delivered into their warehouse and we are going to collect it on monday! yay! may be worth checking with John lewis

Wow that's good! We're going to go to JL anyway so we can compare strawberry, apple and cherry.

Does anyone know if there is a quick guide somewhere to the differences between the iCandy models?
From what I understand strawberry has a memory fold, cherry is lightest but what is the real differences?
Thanks

Quick guide - hmm the iCandy website is probably the easiest place to look or www.bestbuggy.co.uk and a "Compare Pushchairs".

In a nutshell.
The Cherry is the cheapest - the lightest. Very simple to use. Good basket. 2 piece fold. Good seat. Fixed hood
The Apple - feels quite different in style to the other iCandy's really - the seat is different. Large-ish chassis, good basket, big seat, fixed hood. Can have a Jogger wheel added or be turned into a Pear for two. Heavier than the Cherry.
The Peach - beautiful to look at. Easy to steer and use. Big basket. Can be folded one handed but in 2 pieces - smallish to store. More luxurious - you can feel the quality difference between the Peach and Cherry. Sliding hood so "grows" with the child. The Peach can be turned into a Peach Blossom for 2. The Peach Jogger is the 3 wheel off road version.
The Strawberry - On the surface very similar to the Peach but no adjustable footrest. Biggest advantage is the one piece fold - easy to flick open with the memory fold. Good sized basket. Punnet for storage. Again a sliding hood. Similar price to the Peach. Big fold.
