Hi, I'm looking for something to replace my iCandy Cherry. I have a 5mo and a 2 year old, so something that will take either a buggy board or and old-school toddler clip on seat like this would be fantastic. I'm not fussed about good looks and would like to be able to pick something up preloved so not for much more than £150...

My primary requirement is that it is really, really good for long periods of sleeping (several hours a day) for my baby. we're out walking a LOT and I'd like him to have as close to possible a bed while we're out and about. He's touching the ends of his carrycot now in the cherry so that one is out, but he lols around in the seat unit even with a footmuff in it.

I'm thinking of something like a Silvercross but I would welcome suggestions. What is the roomiest buggy around with a proper lie-flat/sit up seat combo? Is an oldfashioned maclaren style here the kind of thing that is my best bet? I'm a bit stumped. TIA

I think a silvercross is about the biggest, that's what I had and it was roomier than most. Look at the sleepover model, lovely to push too

We have an old Emmaljunga Edge pram. It's built like a tank and very very well engineered - brill suspension, huge carrycot/pram, pretty heavy duty.

They are a lot new but very cheap on ebay as no one much has heard of them.

RooneyMara · 29/11/2012 18:42

Is bigger than the sleepover pram, too - had both for ds2! Sold the SC but kept the Emmal for this one Smile

chocoreturns · 29/11/2012 18:44

thanks guys! I'll check out the Emmal ones. I've had my eye on a couple of sleepovers, are they quite big then? They seem to be pretty affordable.

Thd instep.nipper 360 has a seat that lies totally flat and the hood, sides etc give protection from the wind, just add a cosy toes for little one.

You can add a buggyboard or i let my toddler sit on the footrest.

You can pick them.up easily on ebay.

Out n about instep nipper 360.

My two yr old has plently if space to lie flat, when she was very little i out a phil.and teds soft carrycot in the seat, now use blankets or cosytoes.

I have a mama and papas on a classic chassis.
I used it for a while with that toddler seat and than with the buggy board.

Come and fetch it and it is yours

RooneyMara · 29/11/2012 18:47

Sleepovers are a good size, but I am fairly sure the Emmal is bigger. It's certainly got better all round build and suspension. I think I used the sleepover once, and decided I preferred the other as it was just way more strong and sturdy. Silver Cross modern prams are nice and well made but they're kind of, well quite 'light', quite fashiony-oriented and the emmaljungas are made in Sweden for Swedish terrain and weather... they don't care so much what they look like! You could seriously put a motor in it and it would stand up to road use Grin

RooneyMara · 29/11/2012 18:48

Also I have an Emmaljunga buggy board if you want it - will need to charge something, not sure how much it was - but I don't want a lot.

ebay have a few with the pram seat already included.

chocoreturns · 29/11/2012 18:51

wow the Emmal's are gorgeous!! Some seem to go for a lot though, so I'll have to hunt around... how much do you want for the board Rooney? If I can find one I can afford I'd probably have it from you :)

And where are you MissNeverMind? What an offer! grin

Def an Emmaljunga- my DS could still snuggle in at 2yrs (only found out when i had it out to photograph to sell and found him asleep in it!!!

sleepysox · 29/11/2012 18:54

Meant to say I picked mine up 2nd hand for £150 about 3 years ago. Sold it for £200 a few years later!!

Fairylea · 29/11/2012 18:55

Silver cross linear freeway... we have it, it's like a tank ! And ds never fails to fall asleep in it :)

RooneyMara · 29/11/2012 18:57

Oh crikey I'll try and remember what I paid...I'd want no more than £20 though, probably less Smile My younger is 5 so I'm blowed if I'm letting him ride on it!!!

chocoreturns · 29/11/2012 18:59

fab thanks everyone, great advice I knew I could rely on MN :) I'm scouring ebay and preloved as we speak... Rooney I'll pm you if I get hold of one!

chocoreturns · 29/11/2012 19:45

right it's official - I NEED a nitro city in my life, anyone fancy swapping one for either an iCandy cherry or part exchange on a Babyjogger GT double? Grin

I am in Birmingham. Be happy to have the cupboard back.
Took it out the weekend to admire it. Totally forgot the toddler seat was there too.

chocoreturns · 29/11/2012 21:56

wow ok well I'm bloody miles away but I'm going to look into a courier now if you really are serious, because the nitro is a fantasy and it would help me out enormously... are you sure?

missnevermind · 29/11/2012 22:05

Honestly Yes.
Was going to send it to a charity shop. But would rather it went to somebody that would treat it nicely.

Their is a picture somewhere of an identical one. I will find a link.

missnevermind · 29/11/2012 22:16

thisone

More of a cream and blue than white. That's the only difference.

chocoreturns · 29/11/2012 22:23
