Bugaboo Cameleon weight? Keep getting different answers...

I'm trying to find out the weight of the Bugaboo Cameleon with the frame and seat in place. Their website says 9.6 kg I think, but not clear if that's with the seat or not. My local retailer says 10.5 kg. Which says 13.5kg Shock.

Anyone know for sure?

No they're definitely not 13.5kg unless they have made some vast and ill advised change with the Cam3! I had a gecko and it was about 8, felt very light. I think between 9.6 and 10.5 will be pretty spot on with the seat and fabrics on etc.

I thought 13.5 sounded a bit nuts.

Is the Gecko like a lighter Cameleon then? (if so it might be just what I'm after, if I can find a decent one for sale). Is it narrower than the Cam too by any chance...?

Sadly not narrower no, it's slightly shorter and did feel and look smaller in an ill defined sort of way (my friend had a cam at the same time so we spent a good bit of time pushing them next to eachother). You do still occasionally find new ones. I got a new one in 2010 and they had been discountinued some time before then.

Interesting... It's the squareness of the Cam that is putting me off (footrest shape and especially the coffin like carrycot), that and the handbrake which I find a total PITA as I have to use two hands to undo it! I can see the Gecko is square shaped too and presume it has the same sort of brake, so not sure that would help much with these issues, although the lower weight and smaller feel is a boon.

So, I am trying to decide between the Gecko/Cam (which has the issues above) or the Uppababy Cruz (which has a slightly taller handle than I'd like and according to Tiggy rubbish suspension)... Argh.

Forgot to say Blush thanks for your help!

Oh yeah the Cruz is FIRM. How much that matters depends on where you'll use it.

The cam and gecko are the opposite, soft suspension on both altho the cam is adjustable. TBH if the look of them both is putting you off now you're probably not going to want to look at them for another 3 years!

The June will be in stores to view in a few week Wink

The June..............

sighs

Next week......

squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and lets not forget the Versa - hopefully arriving tomorrow :D

This is going to be the best pushchair week EVER!! Two fabulous parent facing folding (TWO!) in one week!!! Do you think I can sell my rickety Bee at last????!!

minipie · 11/09/2012 23:26

No don't mention the June! It is perfect for me (on paper at least) but I can't find anywhere that will stock it anywhere near me (I'm in London and all stockists are in the north) which is really annoying... And I can't take a chance at that price...

Tiggy do you think this could be Pramaholism Cure Week for you Smile?

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 12/09/2012 11:23

I think it could well be to be honest. Well more so when the Versa GT arrives in 6 weeks. The Versa and June really are on paper and from what I have seen so far....pretty much pushchair perfection. Easy to use, seats face both ways, both importantly neatly fold with the seat on either way, one basket space (huge on the Versa) and with off road but neat szed wheels, I will never worry about which pushchair I need to take. Combined with a Babyzen YoYo for travelling, it should be great.....

Don't give up on the June, you may find a flurry of new local stockists once it arrives....supposedly next week....

minipie · 12/09/2012 12:00

Really hope so! There is a suggestion on their FB page that they may be at the baby show in Earls Court in October, but they are not confirming yet... I will keep checking...

I suppose it is a massive amount of money to spend on something you haven't seen... Tiggy and I have seen it, I keep forgetting that!

Tiggywunkle · 12/09/2012 19:32

Oh you really must see it.....it's lovely.....

...and the Versa arrived today and that seems fab! It has the tiniest bumper bar ever!!!

minipie · 12/09/2012 20:13

Ooh I have a lead - Baby boom 2000 are in NW London and stock Easywalker. They were supposed to call me back to confirm if they are getting the June but haven't - I will chase tomorrow.

Sorry I realise this is just my personal obsession and not of interest to you!

Have you got any links to the June and the versa? I am intrigued...

minipie · 13/09/2012 12:52

Sad baby boom 2000 aren't getting it in (they can supply but won't have one in stock to view).

Tiggy don't get too attached to the Versa, I'm on tenterhooks for your verdict on the June next week Grin!

tethers if you google easywalker june you'll find their official website and quite a few discussions about it (which are more helpful than the official website in many ways)

I can't wait for the June :o
The Versa meanwhile is fab to push. The unfold is causing me issues at present and I can see the autolock being unscrewed shortly! The fold is easy though. Fab seat - my two look really really comfy despite two years between them.
