Silver Cross Surf Problem with foam on handle

has anyone had the same problems as me with the Silver Cross Surf?

I returned my pram to my local Mothercare store as it had a number of faults.

The first time I had to fold the pram to take it on the bus the folding mechanism did not work. The other problems were the chassis clip was also broken and the foam was coming away from the handle.

I received a phone call today from mothercare to inform me that I would have to pay £40 to replace the foam that had come away on the pram handle.>
My baby was born last December and she was in hospital until March 2012. > The pram has therefore only been used for 6 months.

Thanks. I have put a complaint forward at mothercare, if I don't get any satisfaction I will contact Silver Cross

It should come with a 2 year warranty but that will not cover wear and tear which I guess is why they are charging you for the foam. Mothercare customer service is terrible at thd best of times so of they are using this as their 'reason' you may have a battle on your hands. Personally when paying for an expensive pushchair I would not expect thd foam to be coming off after such s short space of time, I've only ever done it once catching handlebar in thd car boot. Not sure how successful you will be with them but good luck Smile

I second meme's suggestion. Call silvercross directly. I didn't have the same problem with my surf as you, mine was with the front wheel of my surf, so i duly returned in via Mothercare. It took a week to come back, but after speaking to silvercross I found you can deal with them directly and that they have a 24 hour turnaround time for repairs. This was after Mothercare told me I may have to wait up to 28 days for a repair.

There is no way after so few months you should have all those problems, or have to pay for them.

I also posted on the silvercross Facebook page, at how disappointed I was that i'd had problems with my surf after only three months of use. After posting that they got in touch very quickly and were very helpful. So it might be worth doing that too?
