Hi,

I am pregnant with my second child and am really struggling to find a good travel system for my baby that will suit from birth to walking age without the need for a buggy. I was wondering if anyone had the uppababy vista, quinny buzz or mamas and papas zoom that could offer advice as to which is the best. i have tested all and have to say my favourite is the uppababy but it is so expensive I just dont know if I can justify it, especially if I am going to end up needing a buggy after 6 months! I had a graco with my previous child and hated it, it was so bulky, I ended up getting a maclaren when she was 6 months old and while I love the maclaren, I dont want to have to buy two prams. I also tried the baby carrier with my first born and hated it. So I know what I definitely dont want but dont have a clue what I do want!

hope someone can help :)

I had a Buzz for DC1, it was great for the first 12 months and then I got fed up with the size and weight, and ended up with a buggy. So I wouldn't recommend that. I'm going to use a Bugaboo Bee Plus for DC2. It's a good half-way house between a travel system and a buggy. But it doesn't have a carrycot, you have to use a cocoon.

I have no experience of the other 2 you're looking at but I have seen a Vista and it looked HUGE!

I had the uppababy vista and out of those 3 its the one i would go for every time. The carrycot is great, roomy and my daughter easily fitted in at 6 months.
Vista is no bigger than the buzz, it has a great basket which is handy for chaging bag and shopping etc, the buzzes basket is useless.
I tend to avoid m&p as the customer service is appalling.

I had a buzz and loved it until my child got to about 9 months. It then became really heavy and cumbersome. Going up and down curbs was a nightmare as it kept tipping and the the back wheels kept getting caught on display stands in shops. Never again!

We have bought the Uppababy Vista but haven't had baby yet! It seems easy enough to put up and down, and carry cot looks really comfy. The seat faces either way and really easy to swap. We are planning to use the carrycot as a Moses basket too as it's apparently suitable for overnight sleeping, so saves money on a Moses/ crib!

Definitely the Vista out of the 3 you list. Have you looked at the Cruz too although the Vista feels nicer to push.

Other suggestions are the Baby Jogger City Versa and the Easywalker June - both are about to arrive in the UK and both look awesome!

SarahC1985 · 06/09/2012 12:24

thanks guys! i love the vista, its the price that puts me off. i like the baby jogger but have yet to try it out and the Easywalker seems really impressive but even more expensive! I think I am just going to have to bite the bullet and get a vista, if anyone sees any deals anywhere let me know. the cheapest I have found is groovystyle.com and they have it for £569 and you can get 5% discount if you enter code 'face' in the checkout.

If you really really want to keep it for the whole time personally I would go for a June because the Vista is so wide and now has a relatively short seat back Smile

terrywoganstrousers · 06/09/2012 14:14

We bought our Vista in the US and brought it back- it worked out with sales tax etc about pound for dollar, so $700. So with the exchange rate it only cost us about £450.
So if you know anyone going to the States....

SarahC1985 · 06/09/2012 22:37

when is the June out? I know someone coming from America for a visit but it wont be til after baby is born, bummer!

I think it's end September for the the June. I think?! They're in stock now in the Netherlands and various other places in Europe. I nearly imported one by accident... Wink

CumberdickBendybatch · 06/09/2012 22:54

Don't buy a Buzz, they're shite.

What about an Oyster?

Ihateparties · 07/09/2012 19:33

I have an oyster at the moment and I don't like it where I really thought I would. I like it in theory but not in practise somehow. Stupid cobbles.

CumberdickBendybatch · 07/09/2012 19:37

Ah, so you need something with proper tires. Def don't get the buzz then, the front wheel will get stuck ALL the time.

Nahla321 · 07/09/2012 21:15

You could buy a Maclaren techno xlr with the carrycot as this will last you from birth through toddlerhood no problem. The only drawback is that it can't be parent facing once baby outgrows carrycot which is a bit of a compromise.

Tiggywunkle · 07/09/2012 21:15

There are air tyres for the Oyster...

rogersmellyonthetelly · 09/09/2012 10:50

If you want something that will last all the way through buy something light and small folding with a decent basket.
If its heavy and large folding you will start to get pissed off by the end of the first year and end up buying a stroller instead.
I would say none if the three you have mentioned. Vista is big folded and heavy. Buzz the same, but with a pointless basket. Mamas and papas customer service is abysmal.
Seriously look At the baby jogger versa, I had a city mini and it was superb, the only thing that put me off for a small baby was the lack of rear
Facing!
