Bee Plus Wheel shimmy question

Can anyone explain what you mean by a wheel shimmy? is it that the wheels swivel and turn the wrong way so you don't get moving immediately? How much of a problem is it and does it still happen with the newer model?

Thanks Smile

Nah, they judder from side to side when you try to move forward, and the faster you go the worse it is. 'Shimmy' makes it sound nice and gentle Hmm.

Don't know if it's still a problem though.

I fecking hate my Bee+ :(

useful to know, I tried one in John lewis and seemed nice and light to push. Maybe I should stick with my Micralite Toro and save the £400..

Bugaboo have not yet released a permanent fix for the wheel shimmying issue. They supply plastic washers with all Bees - they are a plastic ring which you put on the wheel. It does fix the problem but the washers can wear out and need replacing....it's not difficult and takes a few seconds. The shimmying depends on the amount of weight over the front wheels and the speed at which you push. So with my 3 year old there is no shimmy when she's in the pushchair. But when it's empty then there is shimmy when I walk fast.

Really it's very disappointing for such an expensive pushchair to have such a fundamental flaw...I've never heard of any other having it. And especially since it's brilliant in so many other ways. In fact, despite the shimmying wheels, I will be using mine for DC2 because all the features are very good. And the washers do work. And I've already paid £400. But would I buy it again if starting over....probably not.

Why are you thinking of getting something new? If it's just because you fancy a change then I'd probably look at something else.
