Issues sourcing iCandy products

Just wondered if anybody else is having problems ordering or sourcing iCandy prams at the moment?

I currently have a Peach in Tomato, and with DC2 due in November, am looking to buy the Peach blossom converter kit and carrycot which will turn it from a single into a double. (DD1 is 15 months old)

I've spoken to John Lewis and two independent retailers local to me, and all say (and I quote), "iCandy are experiencing severe problems at the moment and so we cannot give you a date when we expect to be able to get hands on the items." In fact, John Lewis is the only retailer who will actually place my order - the two independent stores refused to even take it, as they said they couldn't guarantee it would be fulfilled by iCandy.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issues? Obviously I may have to look at other double buggies and/or eBay, but would be interesting to note if there are other avenues I've not tried?

(I've also emailed iCandy directly and am awaiting a response)

Yes, there have been issues for around a year now with different iCandy pushchairs. The Peach Blossom kits - the old and new are slowly trickling into the UK but the tomato ie V1 will be discontinued ultimately - they said 18 months or so. ICandy have had issues with a factory but I know they now have another factory and the last I heard they were hoping chassis' would start to roll out quicker. But iCandy decided to fulfil order for the Strawberry and Peach Joggers before releasing the last two Peach Blossom 2 colours. hopefully things will improve but anything iCandy needs preordering well in advance.

Just to add with your age gap, I would seriously look into getting a V2 Blossom kit even if it ends up mismatched colours. It will last you longer.

Thanks Tiggywunkle. That's interesting - I know they will stop manufacturing the v1 converter kits in 18 months time, but I figured that wouldn't be a problem as a) I need one now and b) come another 18 months down the line, my eldest will be 3 and will be using a buggie less anyway. Will let you know though what the response from iCandy is. Think I'm just going to chance it and place an order with John Lewis and pray it gets here in time!

I ordered and paid in full in March for an Icandy Peach for my daughter's baby due in August.

Baby is 4 weeks old and all she has is the carry cot. The shop have lent her their showroom chassis, which was helpful, but we have been disappointed by the supply issues and would have considered another make.

Still do not have a delivery date for seat or chassis.

This is one of the main reasons why I didn't buy an iCandy for my 3rd which is due in feb. we were at the baby show on Sunday and I jokingly said to someone on a pushchair stand who sold iCandy that I was too late to order one anyway as I only had 24 weeks left to go. She replied that I wasn't far wrong, and you better put the order in before you even get a positive test or you are pushing your luck!
It's a real shame as the peach blossom is one of the best single to doubles out there, iCandy have really cocked up with this, the problems with delivery have been ongoing since early spring, it's now August, it's beyond a joke.

I was told in all seriousness by an iCandy stockist that you are best placing your order the minute you know you are pregnant. I couldn't personally bring myself to order a pram before my 20 week nevermind my before my 12 week scan! I think that's madness!

I was told there is currently a 26 week waiting list for a peach blossom 2, which is what I've ordered. I placed my order in may and have been assured it will arrive at the end of the month as (continually) promised by the independent stockist I have bought from.

I've no way of ferrying my ds and dc2 around if it's not here, so that'll be fun Hmm

Peach Blossom 2 in Silver Mint and Black Magic will be fully in stock (I was told by a manager at iCandy today) by November. Not sure how true that is but they seemed sure enough. There is another factory producing these apparently so my order is looking good girls.

I think also you have to (and always have had to) have a stroke of luck with iCandy. The V2 are in theory as easy to get as the V1s at present. I would quite seriously sit with the iCandy stockist finder and phone every shop within reasonable reach because there are definitely shops with PB2 stock sat in their stock rooms. It's a case of finding where they are. I had to do this with my PB1 2 and a half years ago. Look on the iCandy Facebook wall as there's often adverts on there from shops with stock.

Hi

I'm so upset and near had a proper tantrum in the shop today, my strawberry isnt coming till late oct I am due within the next two weeks and will most likely have this baby this week. Why do they do this, its so annoying, I was told I would have mine in aug, then sep and now end of oct when the baby will actually be 6 weeks old if it even comes then. I dont know what to do, I had a look at the cossatto giggle and I didnt fall in love. Sorry for moaning so much about myself, i'm sure your just as annoyed yourself.

I dont know what to do?? I am so peeved with them I want to find something else but I'm too tired to start pram shopping yet agin

Hey, I know about the delays as well, but my store was really honest with me from the beginning like iCandy had been with them (thats what the store told me) so I knew it was a little bit of a risk that I would not receive it in time, but like you I had fallen in love. I now have the strawberry and I know the delays are a pain in the bottom but all I can say is that the strawberry is completely worth the wait!!!! I love everything about it and so does my little one. If you really cant wait then do look for something else but if you can wait when you do receive your pushchair you will see it was all worth it, tantrums too :) Good luck for when your little one is due x

I'm still waiting for the Strawberry I ordered from John Lewis in June. It took me 3 months to finally be able to place the order!

As an update to my post that we had only received the carrycot for my daughter's Icandy Peach, the shop has informed me today that they will not guarantee that we will have the rest of the order this year!

One rather unhappy new mum. I'm awaiting a response from ICandy on their supply problems.

I ordered a pear upgrade kit last Thursday, and had been warned it could be 3 months but icandy had said it shouldn't be a problem getting it by December when I'm due.

I had a phone call today to say it's all arrived at the shop.
