Tandem pushchairs v Bjcm double

Im currently looking for a double to accommodate a newborn and a small 3 year old. (3 last week)
I've got plenty of boot / storage space.
I've narrowed it down to ..
Bjcm double- I have already got the single and a compact carrycot. I've thought about the glider board but like the idea of ds being more ' contained' when I'm out on my own with all 3 children. ( I also have a 4 year old ds)
A britax b duel- good price and can have baby facing me some of the time. I'm concerned the seat may not be big enough for my 3 year old though. Is it the same seat as the b smart ? I also have a maxi cosi seat so it wouldn't be compatible.
Phil and teds explorer - easy to push, one hand fold, easy around shops etc not sure how much space ds would have with doubles kit on top.
Any advice would be very welcome!!!

The B-Dual would just about work but I think the BJCM or better still the GT would work best with an already 3 year old. I woudnt get the P&Ts.

I've got the BJCM for DS3 (23 months and DD 4 months).

I absolutely love it, it's easy to fold, can push it with one hand and I very rarely have trouble negotiating shops/doorways.

The only downside is the bar at the back which restricts access to the shopping basket. Have got round this by pitting things in through the side. I think the new GT model has resolved this but with DD born in April I couldn't wait for it.

Thanks tiggy, that's what I'm leaning towards but I'm just concerned about pushing a half empty double around I think. With a tandem he can hop on and off iyswim?

Is the Bjcm wide in shops? Smile

That definitely help thanks!
I don't have one locally to look at so it's good to know its light and will fit in shops etc.

I have a 4 yr old a 2 yr old and a newborn, and have the Mountainbuggy duo, its superb. 4 yr old can sleep in it still, and its versatile as the carrycot just slides in on top of the lie flat seats, so I can have all 3 DCs ride. The 4 year old hitches perched on the footrest when he needs a rest, or fits nicely on the buggyboard which is great on a MB. I also have a BJCM double which is great but I prefer the MB. Would never buy a tandem, cant stand them.
