Holiday Buggy

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice/feedback please.

I need a buggy for taking on holiday. I'd like it to be lightweight and compact but also comfortable and able to be used for at least another couple of years. DS will be 6months the first time we need it.

I have looked online and am interested in the:

MacLaren Quest
Petite Star Zia 3
Hauck Viper

It would be good to hear from anyone who has these buggies about how suitable they think they would be.

I'm also open to any other suggestions that people may have!

Thanks

I recommend the Chicco Liteway

We bought a Hauck for Ds1 - real cheapo off Kiddicare...still going strong 5 years on! It lies quite far back so they can have a good nap

Have a nice holiday Smile

I have a maclaren quest and love it. Haven't taken it on holiday yet, but it's a joy to push around town. It also takes up so little space in the boot.

I have just brought the petite star to take on holiday. Only had it 3 days but so far so good.

If you are on a budget, Zeta Vooom

I have a maclaren quest. It is very light and folds compactly. I think it's the ideal holiday buggy. It is well made and nice to push-have found cheaper umbrella folding buggies to feel a bit loose and just more awkward to push and steer. The only downside is it doesn't lay flat for naps, but is probably ok for a 6 month old to doze in.

The new 2012 models are supposed to be suitable from birth. Mine can recline to quite flat, but not as flat as a carrycot. I don't know how that can be suitable for newborns, but people use carseats instead of carrycots too I guess!

Hope you had a good shop, wanted to mention the Chicco Liteway and Baby Atlas, they're good options for younger toddlers because they lie flat.

I wrote an article about strollers to take on holiday a while back, might be useful? > Link

Petite star zia fan here. Very light and compact. Generally a nice little pushchair. Lies flat too, yet plenty of room for toddlers.

Would definitely go for a Maclaren. Will certainly stand the test of time as your little one will only be young when starting to use it. They are built like no other and the quality of fabrics and wheels etc are fantastic. You could look at a mamas and papas Luna though they look quite decent. Good luck Smile

I have the petite star zia 3 - love it! Dd looks so comfy in it and it's very easy to steer etc I also have the travel bag which cost £15 and used it when packing buggy up on the train - its great ! I get loads of good comments from people about how it looks and how practical it is, and it's quite cheap from precious little ones!

I have a mclaren quest 2012 and a (2011) bugaboo bee.I bought the mclaren for holidays but find I now tend to use it for nursery too (folds faster and smaller and is lighter) and increasingly only use the bugaboo at the weekend. If money isn't a factor I'd definitely get the mclaren. I also think it folds flat but perhaps I'm wrong in this. Also things like buggy boards etc you just know will be compatible in the future with a 2nd kid.

Been using my Quest for 2 yrs, still as robust as ever, been on and off lots of aeroplanes, dragged across beaches and still looks as good as new. I love it. Dd walks a lot now and I'm sad to be stopping using it x
