Mum of the children who I nanny has told me not to worry about the seat bit for bugaboo as is a squeeze in my car and just to use the car seat instead. I questioned what about day trips considering is now summer hold & have 6 year old too. Should I be doing as she says or just some how make it all fit??

It is only recommended that babies spend up to a maximum of 2 hours - I think it is - in a car seat and then should be removed so I wouldn't think it suitable for a day outing. Unless you make regular timed stops to give baby a break out of the car seat? I certainly wouldn't do it sorry :) for the sake of the baby I would try and squish it in for longer outings but a quick nip in somewhere would be ok :)

car seat fine for a baby of up to around 6 months i reckon, and, as liswee says, for a short trip. For an older baby, or a longer trip I'd definitely ask for the proper seat - far more interesting for the child too as they can see more things.

Baby is nearly 8 months old, I was thinking a quick whizz round the supermarket I'd use car seat when out at the farm/zoo/park all day I'd rather him be in a proper seat where he can move more & maybe sleep better.
Was a bit shocked when mum suggested it!

For a short while it is ok but not for longer trips. The proper seat is much better for him for day trips.

That is what I had thought & personally preferred. I just wanted to check.
