I would appreciate an overall view from parents that have already used one before as I have been looking at them for a few weeks now. Negative and positive sides to this buggy would be great. Thanks for any help.

Hi
I have the 2011 version I used the carry cot till 6 months which was great. It did represent good value for money as you get the rain covers included for the seat unit and carry cot. The draw back is having to remove the seat unit to fold when it is parent facing and the weight. My personal circumstances have changed from walking loads to being in the car permanently and I really found it heavy. My ds is 6 months and the lowest setting for the harness still sits higher than his shoulders and I am going to order the seat insert as even though his head control is good the seat unit is big for a small baby. I think he will love it as he gets older as it is lovely and high but at present we are struggling for comfort for him. I am now considering the baby jogger city mini gt or versa gt or musty evo as ds prefers a lie flat seat not a bucket seat that the vista has. I wonder if it wouldn't be soi bad if we had the cruz as it is lighter. On a good note and I love it it pushes like a dream.

I've had one for a couple of weeks which is the 2010 version for my nearly 22 month old daughter. There is a lot to love about the Vista but I just don't. I really want to as it's so practical, light to push, has a massive basket, a big seat (this is not the case on the 2012 version!!), it's easy to change the seat around, it folds really flat...there are loads of positives! But I find it a bit too practical and not pretty enough. I think a pink on black frame but in an older model would be great though. The handle would be a bit high if you're uinder 5'2", it rattles over bumps or cracks which I find a bit irritating, it's not a soft ride as I normally like, but the suspension is good for big bumps. I find that I clip the back wheels on things which is strange as it's only 1cm wider than my usual pushchair, but the wheels stick out a bit more so you forget how wide it is. I'm sure I'd get used to that if I was keeping it but I'm not. But this is really nitpicking and I can't properly quantify why it's not my thing. I think I want the moon on a stick when it comes to pushchairs. Wink

I am with Hypatia. The Vista is the best spec pushchair I have owned - fantastic for features, recline positions, hood, huge basket etc. plus you get a gorgeous carrycot and car seat adaptors in the box. I really struggle to fault is as a pushchair. I just don't love it. But I think thats a personal thing - its too tall and spindly for me, and too large folded - but it doesn't stop me saying that I think its fantastic as far as pushchairs go.

DS is 18mo, been using ours since birth. Loved it, but now out of love with it. Spec is great, worked for us- until about now. Shopping basket the envy of everyone, pushes really nicely, good adjustable height handle (am 5'6" and I use the bottom and middle settings). Good carry cot for babies, DS used to sleep in his downstairs for naps until he grew out of it- at 4 months.

Now however, DS wants to climb in/out and can't because it is too high- he is 50th centile. It hasn't worn well if I'm honest, very rattly and the brake doesn't always work properly. Ours has a new bolt on the front that FiL replaced for us- ours sheared right off (luckily without DS in it). I'd hoped that something so expensive would last longer! We have used it most days but certainly not miles and miles like some would, although it does get folded up/down a lot as it lives in the car (tiny house!).

The rain cover is poor once you have a bigger baby/toddler- not enough foot room. I am about to invest in a BJCM or similar as it is much lighter and DS can climb in our friends- but I will more than likely be keeping our Vista ready for a future DC2.

HypatiaTheProcrastinator · 09/07/2012 23:31

Lyftiduft, mine has had the bolt replaced on one of the hinges too. I emailed Uppababy about it last night and they're sending me a replacement for it.

Tiggy How big is the fold? It is similar or smaller than a quinny buzz three with the wheels off?

HypatiaTheProcrastinator · 11/07/2012 21:52

I don't think the fold is big at all. It's amazingly flat even with the seat attached. Taking off the rear wheels makes it quite a bit narrower folded too.

Tiggywunkle · 13/07/2012 15:24

The fold is flatter than the Quinny Buzz but they feel similar in size.

Cookiesandcream06 · 14/07/2012 10:53

I thought it was quite light in comparison to some others when I tried it out?
How has it been on pavements/rougher ground ? (not full-on off-roading, but bumpy parks etc?)

HypatiaTheProcrastinator · 15/07/2012 10:50

It's easy and light to push on rough ground, but a bit juddery and rattly. It's certainly not the most juddery pushchair I've used on rough ground, I just expected it to be a smooth push.

I have a 6 month old and am loving the Vista so far. The carrycot was her Moses basket until she was about 4 months. It pushes really nicely, and the seat is nice and high - she can sit 'at the table' with us and watch our goings-on when we're out and about for lunch.
Yes, it's a bit heavy. I am 5'2 and little and was a little surprised at first at how heavy it felt when I was loading it into the car. Thankfully I have developed good biceps from carting about my needy baby though :)

DP is 6'1 and finds it great to push for his height.

I'm a FTM and have nothing to compare it with however!
