Help needed from pushchair experts!

I have one DS, 3.7 and one DS, 4 months. Before DS1 was born, I did no research at all into pushchairs and ended up with a bit of a lemon! Britax Vision travel system, compatible with Cosy Tot carseat, which we also bought. It is a very cumbersome pushchair, dismantling it to fit the chassis in the car takes me forever and it is such a clunky old thing. Plus, it doesn't even fit in the boot of my car - shows you just how little research I did!! However, it cost a fair bit, and I didn't feel I could justify buying a whole new contraption for DS2, so I have been pushing him around in it for 4 months. He is a big boy though and already getting too big for the newborn set-up, and I now need to convert the pram mode into sit-up toddler mode, but don't really want to have him facing away from me yet! So I am thinking I would like to buy something new after all. I know that there are many pushchair experts on MN, so I am hoping to benefit from your collective wisdom! Here are my requirements:

  • can be forward or rear facing
  • compatible with a Lascal buggy board (for DS1)
  • fairly lightweight
  • easy to fold
  • not hugely expensive: am thinking not more than £250
  • big enough for a chunky baby who will no doubt become a chunky toddler, but not too big as I have a small car
  • would be great if it also happened to be compatible with the Cosy Tot carseat (Britax), but from the research I have done, I don't think this will be possible for my budget, so this is not a deal breaker
  • prefer to buy new, not really much of an e-bayer

I am hoping some of you out there will have the answer for me!! Thanks a million if you are still reading!!

I think I would suggest you looked at a Mutsy Evo - good seat, flat seat, smallish fold, good space for a toddler to stand on a buggy board (although I can't help with compatibility) etc there's one shop online that sells just the pushchair without the carrycot. Or the Babystyle Oyster but their buggy board seems to get good praise so may be worth investing in. Or look at an Upababy Cruz but I know less about this.

Thanks! Hadn't come across any of these, so will have a look at them now.
