Bugaboo cam
Bugaboo bee+
iCandy strawberry

Or bug bee AND bug cam...

I'm going mental.

I need,RF ,smallish to store,pushes well.
I don't drive but I need to find somewhere in the house to store it easily.
I already have an MB+one and a maxi cosi noa.
We walk everywhere,i walk fast and a lot. Grin

The iCandy will be very difficult for me to get hold of because of the blardy "only sell in store" bull, and doesn't come up 2nd hand often.
The bee+ can have ishoos.
The cam is a two part fold which I'm not keen on.

I want an easywalker June but I'm too sodding impatient and they keep putting their release dates back Angry

Lol re slinging up the stairs lol Yes it does conjour up a picture!
If you are shopping and need a basket, could you not simply leave the rucksack at the bottom of the stairs - because I don't see you managing a baby, pushchair and shopping in one trip up stairs?? Can you chain the pushchair up either whilst you go upstairs? I need to reread the thread. Hold on...

Ihateparties · 12/06/2012 23:04

Hmmmm Pulling the June up the stairs is an idea. That could just work and pretty much fulfils all the other requirements for good wheels, good ride etc.

I'm still trying to get my head around the mechanics of how you'll avoid leaving the baby alone in the house for a short time. I suppose making 2 trips with the baby "on" one for buggy, one for shopping makes the most sense. I suppose I'm coming back to this several children later so the idea of leaving them out of sight in the house is no longer vaguely horrifying

It's disappointing how few things fold nicely in one piece parent facing. If you want pf then assuming you'll be using it most of the time thus need to fold and carry it this way.

SO, enough waffle, Tiggy's June idea sounds good in theory but I'm not sure the main seat is suitable from birth so you may end up with a carrycot in the mix there. Ditto baby jogger versa, that def needs a carrcot for newborn. Bugaboo bee has diddly (and potentially dodgy) wheels. Oyster is probably too awkward a fold for you to carry with a baby on you. Micralite needs carrycot. I keep mentioning this but so far no one has taken the bait! It doesn't have big wheels though so not sure how it would be on your pavements (or mine but I plan to find out as soon as funds allow)! It's light, folds either way, lie flat and cheap at £160 imported from a Spanish retailer Grin

Tiggywunkle · 12/06/2012 23:06

I have just looked up the ZeZu - it's really heavy folded plus long....
I know it's also fairly heavy but I think I would be selling you a Baby Jogger Versa - should be easy to pick up with hand and one piece carry, and also when your LO is beyond being slung, you can fold the pushchair still holding LOs hand. Plus there is the GT wheels option. Or do seriously look at the June. It's more expensive though. However these are two pushchairs that will take you from birth to three and are one piece folds with good baskets and companies with good reputations.

Tiggywunkle · 12/06/2012 23:10

Theres the Petite Star Bubble. It can stand having bags of shopping off the handle but there's barely a basket. It's not top of my list but an idea. I knw there's a thread here about the Cherry but I liked mine (but didn't have it long term) but although it's a 2 piece fold, the chassis is light and can also be pulled and the seat is light. So could be managed together. I bet you could even strap the seat on to pull up the stairs?

Ihateparties · 12/06/2012 23:16

I had the cherry in the flat. Very light and you won't shin yourself on it! Could always go back for seat/carrycot bit with the baby in sling. Bit convoluted every time you go out though. I did love mine too though, despite the whole wheels falling off thing Hmm

LiberteEgaliteFRIGGernite · 13/06/2012 07:49

Hmm,nobodies mentioned a peach jogger,it's a two part fold BUT,it has everything else your looking for and you could carry the frame over your shoulder, leaving your hands free for the seat unit/baby/shopping.
I reckon and easywalker June is your best option though...

Or,alternatively you could do what I did with a new born baby and a huge set of stairs in a tennament building in Edinburgh.
and buy a LunaMix,and bump it up the stairs, one by one, with a baby still in it,and shopping hanging off the back.
Shock

She's,like,totally normal now and everyfink....

Parties, that looks great but will the wheels handle treeroots under the pavement?

The pushchair will be left in a small carpark leading to a busy main road. You go up 10 steps, turn at right angles, then up 12 steps to get to the "garden" area. There is a 4' high brick wall, 15' or so of flat "garden" space then the front doors. My flat is maybe 60' from the stairs. I wouldn't hear the baby cry from the bottom of the stairs, nor could i get to them in a reasonable time in an emergency. Which is why both baby and pushchair need to come up together. My friend lives in a "classic" maisonette and only has one straight flight of steps between flat and front door. I'd be happy to leave PFB fir a few seconds under those circumstances iyswim?

I like the Versa, but £400 plus however much for a carrycot bit is going to stretch the budget so the June is out. What's the resale like on Baby Joggers? And are we definitely getting the GT version (BJ website doesn't work on touchscreen tablet grr)

Two piece folds mean two trips with howling baby in pissing down rain before I even start carrying up and cooking the evenings dinner...

I'm not too worried about it getting nicked, it won't be there long enough and there's always people around (back of shops) just carrying it!

Thanks
LiberteEgaliteFRIGGernite · 13/06/2012 10:08

Okay,so you really do need to take everything at the same time Shock
That is a teeny bit of a problem if there are also budgets to consider.....

The Baby jogger/versa, will resale well.baby joggers in particular sell well.
So you should see a return on it.

We are not Definitley getting the GT version I'm afraid,it's a possibly maybe.

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 13/06/2012 10:17

Would bumping a Cam be an option? The basket holds an obscene amount and I some people have popped baby in a peanut shell tipped the seat back and loaded that too.

PurplePidjin · 13/06/2012 10:30

Well, at least baby+buggy then go back with baby for the shopping :o

There is no "i don't like the sling" option, luckily i have a good local slingmeet for advice.

Is bumping baby upstairs daily not just as bad as cross country walking?

When you say Cam is that the Bugaboo Cameleon? I looked on ebay and thought the Frog would suit us, but there aren't many around I guess because it's quite old now??

LiberteEgaliteFRIGGernite · 13/06/2012 10:45

Yes she means a bugaboo cameleon.

Hmmm I bumped DD up a lot of steps, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it!
It was terrifying, and I didn't even know about the associated risks at the time.

I'd be buying a June if I was you.

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 13/06/2012 10:48

How much is a June likely to be?

I do also like the look of some of the Jané ranges, what do you lovely experts think? I like the lie-flat car seat in particular...

PurplePidjin · 13/06/2012 12:29

Ooh, might be able to stretch to that!

Have i killed the thread? Blush

Tiggywunkle · 13/06/2012 13:26

Being totally honest, I dont think you will get better than heading for a shop and having a really good play. The Versa and June aren't out as yet. But you really really need to get hands on - take a sling (or long handbag to substitute) for the baby, a couple of heavy shopping bags and play at folding and lifting. One worry I have is even how you will bend down and fold the pushchair with the baby in the sling. What if you have a C-Section (although you would cross that bridge when you got to it). I honestly think you need something with the easiest fold ever, something easy to then grab hold of and manage ie not too long.

I have been pondering the Cameleon because what you could do is put the baby in the sling, convert the Cam into 2 wheel mode, load it with your shopping (in the seat if necessary at the right angle but the basket is a good size) and then pull the Cam up the stairs behind you. Its a lot more money, but the Donkey is even easier to convert (the new Cameleon 3 may be easier to kick into 2 wheel mode as well because the chassis locks on its own but we wont know until later on about this).

PurplePidjin · 13/06/2012 13:51

If i had to have a section i think I'd be blagging my old bed off my folks for a few weeks - they live in a bungalow! :o

One of the local indy shops is a Jané stockist, mum and i will be off and playing as soon as we can schedule in a day, there's also several of the big chains clustered together in another nearby town to go and visit...

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 13/06/2012 14:46

Tiggy I have considered the yezz but

It's expensive
Looks tippy
And doesn't look good to push with one hand

Every time I search for my specifications it comes back to Quest or Volo

Ihateparties · 13/06/2012 14:56

I think we've all given it our best shot here, you defo need to look at things in person, see what you think might work for you. I know you can't take them home and try it but I agree really you're going to need something really managable in shape, size and weight if you're going to carry it and if you really really need to be carrying the baby at all times when you're doing this.

Carrying the baby and bumping the pushchair with shopping in it sounds more realistic somehow.

Any chance of moving house at all....?! Wink

LiberteEgaliteFRIGGernite · 13/06/2012 15:05

Janes are heavy

honey you need a Yezz.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 13/06/2012 15:06

Honey, try a Yezz in a shop it might not be right but it's a gorgeous push one handed on hard surfaces - in fact scratch that because you don't push a Yezz. You simply rest your hand on the top of the handle and it glides along under its own steam even with a ten tonne three year old on board (ok a little over exaggeration maybe) but he's not little any more. It's only tippy if you try to push it forwards. You don't need to do nothing...if anything you press down not forwards. Thus it's not tippy. Yes it's going to feel tippy in a shop with no child in though! I haven't tried, and am certainly not recommending but I bet it's possible to hang shopping off with mummy hooks because the weight will go straight down the back. I feel confident enough to try when I get time. Equally I am wondering if my Zapp wedge bag could attach on somehow?
But yes it's expensive but it was much less this week with discount codes. Plus the bonus for you is that the lovely raincover is one way to Smurf up your child without the need for blue felt tips [wunk].
It might save you from the M word....

Tiggywunkle · 13/06/2012 15:08

Afternoon Frigg :o
What have you decided to get or is it a fait accompli?? :o

PurplePidjin · 13/06/2012 15:11

Parties, i wish Sad

According to the info I've seen they weigh about 8k, which is 3k lighter than other things Confused

LiberteEgaliteFRIGGernite · 13/06/2012 15:23

Afternoon Tiggy Grin

Well,no it hasn't happened yet!
I have been offered a bee+ and a Cam 2nd hand...so I am still considering one of them...as they will be a stop gap between now and the June coming out in August.
whereas a strawberry would be it (don't laugh!!) and I wouldn't get a June.

And then there's the added problem of the +one...

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 13/06/2012 15:36

Don't laugh??????
What do you take me for!!!!????!!!!???!!???
I am laughing so hard my sides hurt!!!!!

"Would be it........." until when????????????
Next pay day?
The June comes out and is fabulous?
The Versa comes out???
You sell the other pushchairs?
You have Baby no 3????

Haaaaa haaaaa haa haa ha ha ha haaa :o
Oooooohhh I hurt now!!!!!

You areeee funny....just like Mr Tumble!!!

I prefer the Cam, I think you would prefer the push of the Cam, but it's a 2 piece fold and the pushchair you currently have that is a two piece fold is WAY better. Way better!

You have been hankering after a Bee for ages. I doubt you will like it after the first week but at least it's a one piece fold and it's another ticked off your list. There's still then time for a 'forever' Strawberry and for me to drive south (we we're pondering a holiday with a certain pink Pig near you) and drop in.....yes I know where you live ....mmwwaahhh.....and cut up your credit card before the June arrives to make sure you keep your promise!! [wunk]

As for the +One you need to get it repaired. It's still useful to you :)

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 13/06/2012 16:02

I can get a Volo for £20.00 will I regret this?

LiberteEgaliteFRIGGernite · 13/06/2012 16:03

Oh fine you're right,who am I kidding.

I think I'll get a bee+ first and wait for the June before I spend big money...and yes,I want the +one replaced,I was looking at getting an MB runway uj to replace it,but I just thought...er why?!
