I cant decide....uppababy cruz, vista or the babystyle oyster!

Ok. I am really struggling with choosing which one i would like. Its baby #2 and i know i want a separate carrycot.

The cruz is due in July so no reviews as yet. Price on website works out at £499.98 but may get a deal when it comes out?

The Vista is dearer but could get online for around £569

and the oyster is the winner in price at around £400 including a carrycot and the colour packs (i know id like to buy one if i chose the oyster but would wait til baby is here!)

So...any opinions??

I 'think' i prefer the uppababy's but they are so much dearer. Also we have a car seat we used for 1st baby but its not a compatable one and ive also lost the padded crotch and shoulder straps. Should we get a compatable one? I have found a great deal for the maxi cosi cabriofix which fits on all 3 pushchairs.

I'm so confused!!!

I have an Oyster. I love love love it.

Pros - great price, well made, good sized shopping basket, carrycot is massive, lightweight chassis, massive hood, built in mosquito/animal net, swivel wheels easy to turn on/off, handle goes up really high for tall people, does Cabriofix, each unit clicks on/off chassis easily, lots of accessories e.g buggy board etc.
Cons - bulky when folded, little suspension, seat unit is quite low down, can feel a bit bumpy/ricketty on very bumpy ground.

I'd recommend one to anyone and am considering another baby just so I can get an Oyster Max would buy another one in a heartbeat.

Hi I have the vista and have used the car seat and the carry cot to date. It is a great pushchair but and there is a but it is heavy getting it out on my multi stop school run. If I could leave it up it would be alright even for trips into town but now it sits in my porch as my ds who is 5 months hates the bucket seat. I hope he will like the seat when he is older.

The cruz will be lighter but will have no carry cot and I can't see it being comfy for a really little baby as it isn't a lie flat stroller.

I looked at the oyster with the mirror chassis my ds actually like sitting in this as though it wan't flat it had a lovely seat unit. I am waiting to see if he will go back in the vista in another months time. At present I am using an old bjcm. If it is for a new baby I would wait till he or she arrieves as they will have there own like/dislikes and you don't want to be like me and have it sitting in the porch. Again it isn't light weight.

Most people seem to ditch the big one for a smaller one later I wish I would listen to myself and just bought a bjcm.

I believe there will be a carrycot to go on the Cruz in the UK.

I would have a look at the Mutsy Evo if you like the Oyster. On functionality, child seating position, hood etc the Evo has the edge for me. There's bits I prefer about the Oyster - my ideal would be the Evo seat on the Oyster chassis!! But both are good.

Nanny we seen the cruz at the baby show and it had a carrycot. We even got to play and click the carrycot on and off etc and the guy demo-ing (is that even a word!?) was really good and talked us through both the vista and the cruz. The cruz will be available in july The only thing is the cruz carrycot will only be available in the black and is an extra cost whereas the vista comes with coloured carrycot.

I do really like the oyster (and prefer its price), what i dont want is to have to buy a 'lightweight' pram later on. We had the babystyle ts2 for my daughter and i hated it, birth pack made it a pram and was so so fiddly with folding bits here and there and velcroing etc. Also it was a long chunky fold and generally rattly and not great! We stuck it til she was a year and got a quinny zapp in costco for £90! I loved this and she still uses it, the only negative is it doesnt recline and grandparents cant fold it!

Tiggy i will go look for the mutsy evo, is it new and do you know rough cost at all?

Yes the Mutsy Evo is £399 which I find an amazing price for a great quality, nicely finished pushchair PLUS carrycot! I couldn't believe it when I heard it. I believe that's cheaper than the Oyster and IMHO the Evo is better although I do like the Oysters narrow chassis and extending handle. But the Evo seat is better.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 08/06/2012 22:55

tiggy i do like the evo and there is very little price difference between them. I have a price of £395 for the oyster and that is including carrcycot, chassis and both colour packs.

I need to see them all again, plus i havent seen the evo yet. The handle looks odd and the fold looks kinda clunky and not super easy. I have emailed my local large pram centre to see when/if they will have stock of the cruz and the evo.

The carrycot is better and the cruz is lighter but wonder when you add extras how much the grand total will be. I can sympathise. I hate 2 piece folding pushchairs they are really annoying. Would this be something that would annoy you.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 08/06/2012 23:00

What kind of extras do you mean nanny? I'm not sure if the fold would annoy me as i havent tried it. Both the cruz and versa folded really nicely and i did prefer them a teensy bit to the oysters fold. The oysters handle is almost squarish too which i dont love...ridiculous isnt it!?

Hi Izzybizzy.

Sorry to resurrect an old trend. Just wondering what you went with and whether you were happy with your choice?

Thanks.

holbea · 12/09/2012 20:57

I love love love my Uppababy and would always recommend it to anyone. I haven't felt the need to buy a smaller, lighter buggy.

Diamond7 · 13/09/2012 18:12

Thanks for the response holbea. Do you have the vista or cruz?

hawaiiWave · 14/09/2012 16:42

I'd go for oyster, its a great pram.

jaggythistle · 18/09/2012 15:10

I've got an Evo and i love it. probably recommended by tiggy!

the carrycot is really nice, I'm actually disappointed that DS2 is so huge and could barely squeeze in now at 5 months old!

the pushchair seat is great too and lies flat. the Evo can fold as one piece with the seat facing either way, but folds up really small if you take the seat unit off.

the matching cosytoes makes a lovely pushchair liner and he seems really happy in it.

Tiggywunkle · 18/09/2012 17:52

I am glad you like it! I don't like recommending pushchairs unless I think they are good and I think the Mutsy Evo is one of the best out there.
