Which would you fly with?

I returning to the UK this summer with my 4m old and looking at ordering a buggy to be there when we arrive (can't buy anything where we live). My criteria are something strong to survive bumpy ground, parent facing and suitable for a (smallish) 4 month old without carry cot etc. And it has to survive a fair number of flights. I love the look of the baby joggers - but alas, they face the wrong way. Thinking about the Britax B smart (3 wheeler), a Quinny buzz or moodd, erm....

I'm choosing using various websites, and going to send my mum in to town to check out my short list in the flesh.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated. It's so hard to choose!!!

Please note: If you take a buggy on a flight, it has to fold as one piece.

Have you looked at the Bugaboo Bee?

It might not have to be 1 piece, I took my cam on a flight, without a flight bag, they just tagged both pieces, but it might depend on airline!

I can't say I would want to take a Buzz or a Moodd onto a plane TBH. They are wide and relatively heavy.

My suggestions would be too look at the Easywalker June due in the UK in June. I can't find out if the seat is suitable from birth, but it does lie flat from the mid join rather than being a bucket seat, and by 4 months old, I dont think I would be so worried about my baby being completely flat on their back. But thats a personal choice to make. Maybe the Easywalker Facebook page can answer the question for you because it may well be suitable.

There is also the Baby Jogger City Versa which does have a bucket seat, and therefore is definitely not suitable for an under 6 month old. However it is possible to buy wedges which can fill out a bucket seat - someone only today was telling me about a footmuff with a removable wedge built into it, and Silver Cross do one for the Surf. So again given your baby is 4 months old, it may be a good option to get you by until 6 months just to have a really excellent, easy fold, hard wearing pushchair? There are going to be two versions - the EVA wheel one ie hard plastic and a GT version. The EVA version is due here in August if thats not too late for you?

From what I have seen of both of the above I would certainly consider travelling with them. The June has a travel bag, and I am sure Baby Jogger will have one for the Versa.

I also have a Petite Star (Njoy) Bubble here at present and it may suit your needs if you prefer a stroller type of pushchair? I think it would stand up to travelling well although personally I would remove the hood for a flight. But its suitable from birth with a seat facing in both directions.

The only issues is that your mum wont be able to see any in advance, and depending on your arrival dates, they may or may not be in the UK (and you would need to put your name down in advance for all of these).

Other suggestions would be the Bugaboo Bee although I can't say I would want it being thrown onto a luggage lorry at the airport; the Quinny Zapp Xtra - light and easy to use but a 2 part fold - but you could swap for fabrics when travelling which makes it a one piece fold; the Babystyle Oyster (again not flat for a newborn but IMHO plenty flat for a 4 month old); The Musty Evo (again a 2 piece fold); The MyChild Pinto (fab but may be too chunky folded). But I think it would be worth waiting for one of the first three TBH.

LOL Milk. Don't blame me!! The Bubble is a lot of fun. My son giggles sooo much every time we put him in the seat. He's never done it with another pushchair. I have no idea why though because we have plenty of rear facing pushchairs!!

Thanks for all your advice. I'd love to get hold of an easywalker June - I'll see if I can find when release date is. We arrive on 25 th June... Fingers crossed!

What are your opinions on the uppabay vista. It looks awesome. Have you ever flown with one? I'm beginning to understand now why people appear to have more than one buggy... I'm new to this!

Yes the Vista is excellent value for money. Really top spec. It's quite long folded. I am not sure I would fly with it but I know people do. I would certainly buy a travel bag for it. The smaller Cruz might be better but that's not here until July. I have pushchairs for all occasions. I think the June and Versa GT might change that though. I think both with be all in one, birth to three pushchairs.
