Starting to look at doubles...help my research!

Ok so not due until late Oct but after a recent bad pram purchase I want to make sure I get it right this time, so starting to hunt now. I bought a Quinny 2nd hand which I really didn't like in pushchair mode, spent ages searching for the perfect pushchair bought a Oyster (which I love!) then found out I was preg 2 weeks later...oops!

So I will def need a double as DD will be 14months, & I also have a few requirements....

-Don't mind if either side by side or one up one down
-I have a single gate post, so needs to be narrowish & fit through my door
-I also have 8 steps leading to & then a double step in my doorway, so needs to be bouncable!
-I'll love to be able to attach my maxi cosi, as I use on my oyster frame a lot

Oh & if possible not massively expensive.... Any recomendations welcome.

So far I've had a quick look online at the P&T explorer & mountain buggy duet. We've been offered a 2nd have Britax B-Dual but DH described it a child bearing tank.... do the words double pushchair & compact go together?!!!

If you love the Oyster, Babystyle are bringing out the Oyster Max tandem due out later this year..... have a look at this

Many more options to obsess over look at on bestbuggy.co.uk too, its a great site Smile

I personally LOVE my MB double as i like side by side. Very narrow and fits through a single door. I also like the Out & About Nipper, very manouverable but wider i think.

Every other person on here will tell you to get a P&T.......

The B-Dual is one of the best newborn and toddler options - believe me there aren't tat any which work well, and the B-Dual is actually pretty compact! Don't get a P&Ts not least because you will have a 14 month old who will still want to nap and theres no recline on the standard sort of P&Ts in baby mode. Look at the B-Dual objectively, the iCandy Pear and Peach Blossom 2, the Jane Twone and the Babystyle Oyster Max, unless you want a side by side and then I would suggest starting looking at the Bugaboo Donkey, the Baby Jogger City Mini and GT, Easywalker Duo and TFK Twinner Twist Duo. You won't go far wrong with these although clearly we don't know much about those that aren't out as yet.

You'd be hard pushed to be recommended a P&T on here! :o I agree with what Tiggy says. Also a Stroll-Air My Duo which may or may not be an import job still by then. I have a B-Dual which has worked really well and is very well designed, just a little bit wide.

Thanks for the ideas, I hadn't realised about the no recline on the P&T until mentioned now I know it looks obvious! So thats off the list I also think it looks too exposed for the older baby, & being due in winter its lost points for that.

A few I hadn't seen there & had a quick google, I like the TFK Twinner haven't found any sizes yet but will keep looking. I'm not keen on the iCandys really or maybe think its that style one up which is putting me off, hence not falling for the B-Dual although I am going to give it a test drive (sister in law has offered one our way)
The Oyster though looks ok but where does my shopping & baby bag go?!

City jogger mini I'm a bit off as really like to use my car seat for quick pops to shops & think it will be a lot easier with 2 LO's?

I am however loving the bugaboo (my DH may have a fit when he see the price, so probably a no....sob) are they ever available 2nd hand for less than £900?!! (todays ebay search!)
Second to that I'm quite liking the Stroll-Air, is it available anywhere in the UK?
Other than that back to my orignal thought of the MB Duet, could I buy one on Ebay, do they last or should I buy new, I was thinking of a 2nd hand carrycot from there.

There are sizes for the TFK Twinner Twist Duo here plus loads of photos galore!!

The shopping and baby bag on the Oyster Max go on your back or possibly tucked under the lower seat or strapped to the side bars :)

There's the odd Donkey on Ebay now and again for under £800 but rarely.

The Stroll-Air is pretty good. No you can't buy them in the UK - yet - but the company will happily import them for you.

I would buy a Duet new, to get the warranty. I have heard of too many things going wrong with them to buy second hand, although I suspect the parts are easy to get. But mine had a twisted chassis which wasn't good.
