BJCM GT - reviews & where to buy

Hello - thanks to lots of helpful responses to a previous post I think I'm leaning towards getting a BJCM GT Double for my twins who will be arriving in June/July.

I'd really welcome any more feedback from early purchasers of either the single or double BJCM GT. Is it as good as you hoped? Any problems? Also, where did you buy and were they good price-wise or service-wise?

Thanks.

I am getting a GT tomorrow to try out so can let you know more by the end of the week. I have had the single and double BJCM and Elite too so should be able to compare reasonably well.

I have the single. I'm finding I'm using it lots more than I'd originally anticipated. I had bought it as a "buggy" to use for public transport or quick convenience shopping trips in the car or holiday...but I've found since owning it I've been going out and about on the bus more often (something I wasn't doing that much) and taking it for all day weekend outings too! Today I used it for the school run...I wasn't sure if it'd rain and knew with the large hood on the gt I needn't bother with the raincover...I went to the hairdressers on the way back. It was neat to park out the way not taking up too much room...then we went to the cafe and again it wasn't in the way although I knew if I needed to fold it I could easily and quickly tuck it away. We did some grocery shopping after and had lots of room in the basket beneath for that. Plus ds's coat as the sun came out briefly.
It's really easy to steer and push the seat Is v roomy so fab for our nearly 4y old. It can be pushed one handed while you hold your kids hand.
It's s really good hybrid between all terrain and compact city pram and whilst it won't handle deep boggy mud and extremes of off roading it'll do everything in between and folded its easy to pack away or stick in the car. The quality is superb. It looks very sporty and smart (we have the bamboo colour which adds a subtle splash of colour. Just enough not ott).
I had a city mini before but think the gt version is worth every penny of the higher price tag. The basket is easier to access. There's a lovely shiny graphite paint job to the frame that looks rather fab. The handbrake instead of foot brake is way nicer to use and more convenient. The wheels and front wheel suspension make a really big difference to ease of pushing and manoeuvrability. It feels a smoother easier push, softer due to the forever tyres.
It's a brilliant multi purpose buggy and good enough for everyday use...unless you live on a muddy farm and are crossing ploughed fields!!! (in which case look at the BJ summit!).

I bought from winstanleys pramworld for £299 raincover not included. Their service was good it was sent quickly. I've not had any issues with the product to date. I've only had it a few weeks. I've had babyjogger prams before without issue though. I think they are well made and fab quality.

Hopeful bump Tiggywunkle as I'm wondering how you've got on with the GT this week?

Thanks for all the other info.

My single BCJM GT arrived yesterday just had a walk to the local shops with it so far,but my first impressions of it are good. The overall quality of the pushchair feels far superior to any other pushchairs I have had (silvercross 3d,mclaren quest and most recently mamas and papas sola).Lovely roomy seat, which is needed as I have a big 17 month old, huge hood and it felt light to push, even with my big DS in it. The one handed fold is probably the best thing about it,even DP was impressed by it! I bought it from Practical Pushchairs and paid £292 with the raincover. No complaints about the service would buy from them again. HTH

Ok, I have had a really good play over the last couple of days. I've had it out with both the BJCM and Elite singles to see how it compares. There's not much difference in push with my youngest - he's 21 months old. But with my 3 nd a half year old it's clear there is a big difference in psh, nd bearing in mind the OP is having twins, I doubt you too woud benefit to begin with, but long term, you would. The GT feels more grounded and stable somehow. It pushes easier than the BJCM with my eldest in. It's got a good feel. I have one quite big downside though, and that is that although the seat back is really tall, the front of the hood is considerably lower than both the other two. It was bothering me so much seeing my eldest laid quite uncomfortably on the hood rim that I even tried swapping all the hoods about but neither of the other two fit. But to be fair my eldest rarely goes in a pushchair these as but given there is a bigger seat back, really I would expect a high hood to match. Once the hood is up, she has bags of room but she has to duck under.
Having had both the BJCM and Elite doubles, I think the BJCMGT is probably a happy medium between the two. The double Elite was really heavy to carry, and although superb, I think as a double the GT is a good choice. As a single, it really needs you to look critically at what you use a pushchair for. Right now the BJCM does us great but long term the Elite will be better than the GT for push, ride and the hood. But we are fortunate and have all 3 here to try at once. I think DH would prefer the GT and the handlebar is a tad better for me than the Elite, and also the GT isn't back heavy like the Elite is for me. We have spent ages asking over which we need / like / is most useful etc and in the end the Elite has been rescued from the to EBay pile and the jury is out re the BJCM and GT until the Versa GT arrives :D
But all round a very lovely pushchair in typical Baby Jogger style :) Highly recommended here.
