Pushchairs
I've just bought a bugaboo chameleon on ebay - have I messed up??
SwivelHips · 07/05/2012 10:10
Getting quite carried away on ebay I've bought the pram without the carrycot for a newborn? I have a moses basket for indoors so my thoughts were as it's summer the carrycot probably wouldn't get used much. On the bugaboo site the seat will lie flat...have I done okay or royally messed up (again)?
lisad123 · 07/05/2012 10:12
You can buy the carrycot separately, I would have one for a new born tbh
lucidlady · 07/05/2012 10:14
You need the carrycot. Presumably you've only got the seat base? This isn't lie-flat and is not recommended for use before baby is 6 months old. Newborns need to lie flat.
SwivelHips · 07/05/2012 10:22
Oh sh*t. £250, yip I think it is the seat base. I dont know anything about prams.....
AnEcumenicalMatter · 07/05/2012 10:32
You should be able to pick up the carry cot unit separately on eBay. Also, check Gumtree for your area.
SwivelHips · 07/05/2012 11:10
Thanks, I think I can salvage the situation at a reasonable price. When will I ever learn...
Tiggywunkle · 07/05/2012 11:55
You need the carrycot or worst case look for a seat insert like the Silvercross Surf baby insert. But TBH the carrycot s much nicer. It's fairly easy to pick up a carrycot fabric on EBay or one of the Bugaboo Facebook forums. Enjoy you Cameleon! I loved mine.
SwivelHips · 07/05/2012 12:23
Tiggy am I just looking for the fabric and board? Presumably I would have had to buy a new mattress separately regardless of my stupidity?
milk · 07/05/2012 12:42
If you made the bid within 24 hours, you can retract your bid saying you entered the wrong amount of money- that is if you do not want the item.
Tiggywunkle · 07/05/2012 13:13
Yes, I would always buy a new mattress. So yes, the carrycot fabric and board (I think they are attached?? Its a while since I had mine though!) You will also need a carrycot apron but those are easy to pick up if one isn't included.
