What will fit in a Ford KA??

I'm early in my pregnancy but have been looking at prams / travel systems already and have started to panic! I can't afford a bigger / newer car (I have a 2004 Ka) but have already heard its a nightmare for fitting car seats and getting a pram that will go in the boot. Any Ka / other small car owners have any recommendations?

I had to get rid of mine and get a Fiesta for the very reasons you mentioned. Lovely cars but not with car seats. Sorry to be unhelpful!

I've got a Ka. We bought an iCandy cherry; the chassis fits in the boot and I'd put the carrycot or pushchair seat in the front. Obviously this causes problems if you have more than one other person (apart from the driver) in the car as well! It takes a Maxicosi carseat, which also fits in the Ka no problems.

I'm sure other similar travel systems would fit too, but you might be pushed to find one that fits in the boot in one piece.

If a maxi Cosi car seat fits then that's half the battle done :)
For small fold pushchairs, I would think you would need to go and have a good play - I don't know much about a Ka boot ie whether you need long and flat like the Cherry chassis, as suggested, or if small and chunky will work?
Would the Babystyle Oyster fit? Or the new Mutsy Evo - maybe either with the seat off? A Jane Muum? A Quinny Zapp Xtra? The new Petit Zia Pramette the name of which escapes me right now? Evolution maybe? With four wheels. The Easywalker June? Any of the Baby Joggers with the wheels off eg CityMini, Versa? To be honest you need to know whether a flat fold would work or a chunky so I woud head for a good independent pram shop and try some of these out.

Bugaboo bee does. And you don't even need to remove the parcel shelf!

I had a friend that also had a ka and had a Quinny buzz however she had to remove the wheels and it only went in at a certain angle that only she seemed to know!

I could however chuck the bee in and be off with no fiddling!

Thanks everyone, will have to have a play with the car and see what works :) Seems like the pricier ones are the ones that fit!

I believe (unless I have mixed up the car!) that a friend of a friend had this problem but has gone for the My4 as this fits in the boot.

Used to have a KA a long time ago and the prams that would fit were those that woud fold down small and square. Avoid bifold prams unless the handles can collapse in on themselves, as long and skinny doesn't fit.

Maxi cosi base and seat.

We have a KA. Quiny zapp fits. Baby style oyster fits

We have an iCandy peach jogger. That fits but have to take the 2 back wheels off. But they just pop on & off so doesn't cause an issue Smile
