Second hand Cherry

I'm thinking about buying a Cherry second hand (eBay, gumtree etc).

But I've seen some dire reviews from a few years ago - seats tipping before 2010 and general rubbishness a few years before that.

So: should I restrict it to 2010 onwards? Or should I trust sellers if they say they haven't had any of the problems?

This is going to sound odd but I had a cherry from 2007, the front wheels both fell off at different times, I fixed them back on myself. Never had the seat position problem but I still thought it was a great pram!

Gave mine away a couple of years ago to a friend (didn't seem right selling it after doing home repair even tho I was sure it was secure) who used it for a year then passed it on and it is still being used today so problems aside can't fault its lifespan really. A friend of mine still uses her 2007 one for now toddler younger sibling of original occupant. She too had the wheel issue and fixed it herself.

Used though, I would do as you say and go for post 2010 so you can be sure. As far as I am aware the very first ones like I had all had the wheel problem.

We got our cherry in the summer of 2009 having done a lot of research. I don't remember reading about any problems with recent models (ie the 2009 model) when doing our research and we certainly didn't have any problems with ours. In my opinion, its a fab pushchair especially in the first few months when you want something with a carrycot/rear facing seat/attach a car seat to. Its light, easy to fold (although a two piece fold) & DD always looked comfortable in it.

My sis in law got a Cherry in 2008 and TBH her front wheels barely touched the floor. It always put me off buying one but the issues have been fixed and I had one here about 2 months or so go and thought it was excellent. I loved it. Great value for money and a good all round, well thought out pushchair.

Well, we went for an old one eventually. 2008 ish, but with front wheels apparently sorted. £130 inc carrycot, cosytoes, parasol, car seat adapters.

10 weeks or so until I have a baby to put in it!
