Fed up with Peach delays - Mountain Buggy Duet - will i be disappointed?

Can't be sure i am going to get a converter kit in time, my own fault, had no idea it would be so hard to come by one!

Have been looking at alternatives and wondering if the MBD might be the ticket - actually, do prefer that i can have baby facing me in the carrycot. But, I have loved the peach, its so easy to push and i do walk a lot, can anyone share their experience?

My other issue is that the internal door it needs to go through is 74cm which rules out a Donkey!

many thanks

The Duet didn't work for us for lots of reasons - mainly having siblings rather than twins, but also the handlebar is low even on the highest setting which was a real issue for me. Handlebar height is more critical with a side by side than a single or tandem as invariably you push two handed.

I heard that the Black Jack Peaches are on the way back in stock. I would phone round approx 5 different independent retailers tomorrow - try Lullaby's Baby Den, Oxford Pram Centre, Glow Maternity, House of Baby and any others and see what they all say about delivery times. One thing thats worth knowing is that iCandy do a) have top retailers who I was told will get preference with the new Peach and b) it is first come first served - so orders will go out at different times to different stores depending on when the order was placed! I still think John Lewis is the best bet for the first Peach Blossom 2's though. I would try and hold out...but it depends on your due date, your nerves, what the stockists say etc.

Thanks Tiggy, due date is end of June. I can't imagine getting a new 2 converter kit and getting the chasis adapted all by then, it all sounds a bit of a mess.

I spoke to john Lewis today and they don't know when new converters are coming and are out of the black jack converter. They are making the peach 1 converters a special order item, in that they will not be carrying any stock in future, they will place orders with iCandy individually for them - is not going to be as easy as iCandy made out for existing owners!! Or for those who leave it to last min to order Blush

Apart from the handle what didn't work for you on the duet - are all mountains like that too?

I am not surprised that John Lewis wont be stocking the old colours except for special order, because really thats why the old colours have stayed on - to fulfil existing orders but importantly for those with the current Peach colours who want to get a matching Blossom kit.

I admit that the end of June could be cutting it fine - but I would be phoning around and asking lots of questions.

The Duet handle is lower than the Duo. I recently got a Swift which has a similar height to the Duet and I had issues with that too. The Duo handle is a few inches higher. I had issues with weight distribution ie the Duet pulling to the side my eldest was on. The children were too close together and my eldest could easily poke and talk to her sleeping brother. Her feet were too close to his, and I had to remove her shoes each time to stop her accidentially scraping her feet on his - that got tiresome TBH. I didn't like the way the fabric bunches up around the child's head after being reclined. The fold is really large and bulky to lift. It only just fitted into our boot. The widest point is at mid point whereas with a tandem, the widest point is the wheels - wheels slide under shop displays whereas I kept knocking items off shelves and twirly displays eg scarves, jewellery etc at mid point.

But I know misdee loved her Duet and had a totally different experience to me :)

If you really want to stick with your Peach, why not just buy a second hand Blossom kit and carrycot?
