zeta vooom or hauck turbo?

Needing to buy a cheap buggy for a solidly-built 2yo to go on our hols...

I've narrowed it down to a Hauck turbo or Zeta Vooom and, in fact, given the glowing reviews, I'd go for the ZV but for one thing that really puzzles me - "seat width 34cm". That seems so incredibly narrow! Can anyone comment on that?

Does anyone have either buggy and can vouch for them?

That's actually quite wide for a stroller. Have you measured the width of the seat you normally use to compare?

No idea about the pushchairs though sorry.

Hypatia, is it? . The Hauck (and other brands/models) all give widths more in the region of 45-48cm.

I suppose maybe the difference is that usually the stated width relates to the entire buggy, probably at its widest point, and maybe by contrast the Vooom literally means just the seat. I'm just so wary as this buggy appears to be for sale online only, so I can't go and see one, and also one of the reasons I want a new buggy is that I have a Pliko Pramette which seems to have an overly-padded, very narrow seat/backrest. My LO is very squashed in it, and the thought of her being rammed into it somewhere hot made ME feel uncomfortable! I don't want to buy her something else she's going to be equally squashed in.

Yes, usually when a width is stated they mean the overall width of the pushchair. If they're saying that's the seat width then I expect they mean the internal width of the seat, and 34cm is very spacious.

I have a maxi cosi Noa which has a seat width of 27cm and seems very spacious for my 19 month old. I'm sure a seat which is 34cm wide will be perfect for a big toddler.

However, I have no idea about how good either of those pushchairs are.

I've got a Zeta Vooom, seat is spacious - I have a small 1 year old who actually looks a little lost in it!

I think it was great value for money, the big hood is excellent. It's not the lightest umbrella stroller you could buy but on the flipside it is sturdy. It has a carry handle and autolock.

Don't think you could get much more for the money really especially if you get one of the cheaper colours. I wouldn't bother with the footmuff.

Sorry I haven't seen the Hauck so can't compare.

Wow just had a quick look on Amazon can't believe how the prices have shot up on some of these. Definitely don't pay £120! If you did want a footmuff the Leaf is a good buy or I think they were a bit cheaper on ebay.

My friend has just bought one of those zooms and it is awful.

She wanted something lightweight and cheap as her dd is just over 2 and a half but we have 'encouraged' them to walk more and now rather than drive her dc to school they will walk.

The buggy is awful to push, feels very heavy as there is no suspension, like the hood that can be bigger but really, awful. LIke she says, soending 50 quid on something that will not be used for much longer is very sensible but to use it to walk almost half an hour each way to school and back must be very uncomfortable for her dd.

The only nice thing I can say about it is the colour - she has a really lovely purple colour.

Forgot to say the seat seems fine, my dc has just turned 2 and is a very very tall boy and he fitted easily when I tried to push him in it. Almos tbroke my wrists pushing him though

Thanks to everyone who replied. Think I'm going to try the Hauck. I dunno - just too many unknowns on the ZV and I feel wary ordering something like this on ebay. And as Safmellow says, they've really whacked up the price of them recently anyway!

I've been looking for a holiday buggy. Have you looked at the Maclaren Volo? No recline, though.

Hi, Did you buy the Hauck Torro in the end? If yes, can you tell me what it is like please? I'm looking for a pushchair to use on our first foreign holiday and had initially bought the Zeta Vooom but it was awful! I had a horrendous time dealing with the company that has exclusive rights to the Vooom but did evetually get them to collect and refund hence my search for something else.

I have just bought a hauck torro as a second buggy
Paid £99 brand new & comes with everything footmuff raincover Cup holder & a decent basket for a lightweight stroller!
Also love the extendable hood which protects baby from sun & peep hole & pocket for phone money etc
Overall a fantastic all rounder ;)

busymum100 What was wrong with the Zeta Voom? I'd also narrowed my search down to the Hauck Turbo or Roma and the Voom and now I'm not sure..
