a) learn my stuff (and have you lot on standby for awkward questions

b) have a preloved/agency section for bargains

c) have sacks of potatoes in various weights for testing prams with ie average newborn, 1yr old, 2 yr old weights

d) have an off road course in the car park with various surfaces, lumps, bumps etc for road testing.

Anything I've missed???

Yes - a good link to the Internet for price matching and to a good review website :o

I think to be fair Kiddicare do cover most of these points. Maybe you need an outing?

Nowhere by us is helpful with any of these things either. And I always think they need weights and some kind of assault course for pushchairs so you can test it properly! Wink

Stock all the brands you can't see easily round her (not hard where I live).

Also stock slings and those weighted dolls so people could try them out.

thisisyesterday · 17/04/2012 14:49

also how about some cupboards in various sizes of car boot (just roughly) so that people can see if they can fit them in with their weekly shop? Grin

Not employ 20 year old boys who have no interest in pushchairs! (I'm looking at you mothercare!)

cheapandchic · 17/04/2012 17:42

Same as mamas and papas. Staff that are young and haven't a clue, nor do they care...big mistake. Experienced staff important.

Daisybell1 · 17/04/2012 18:49

Ooh, all good ideas. I agree that stocking different brands are important. As is stocking items appropriate to the area - for instance I live between 2 national parks but there is nowhere to buy decent off road buggies! Or even an understanding of what may be out there.

lock the door and stroke all the lovely pushchairs, infact i would move in Wink Grin

Daisybell1 · 18/04/2012 08:43

That could be a problem. I may not be able to sell anything and just be found sitting in a corner stroking a buggy muttering "its mine precious"

tabbycat7 · 18/04/2012 10:36

I would probably turn into a gollum as well :)

Ooh, also a model bus for testing width of doubles in the aisle, size of luggage racks, general ease of hoiking thing about.
