iCandy Peach blossom version 1 question

I have the iCandy Peach blossom version 1 and just bought the lower carrycot and conversion kit in preparation for DS2 coming soon. I also have the car seat (and no money left in the bank... )
Anyway, if I want to use the pram as a single, just with the newborn, am I condemned to have to use the carseat? I am told the the carrycot can not be used on its own as a single IYSWIM.
Or do I have to use the carrycot with the empty upper seat on the top?
I definitely do not want to buy the main carrycot.
Any advice gratefully received.

Yes, you can't, and shouldn't use the Blossom carrycot as a single. The pins are too close together on the carrycot and in theory shouldn't fit, and if you force the pins apart to fit the holes then essentially you could cause weaknesses. I am not even sure you should use the carrycot without a seat on top...I am not sure how the balance / tip-ability would be. You would need to try it, or read your instructions or phone / Facebook iCandy and ask. If you want to use the car seat as a single, you will need the main blue car seat adaptors rather than the yellow Blossom ones unless you already have them? So the options really (unless using a car seat or carrycot alone on the pip Convertor is ok) are to buy the ain car seat adaptors, or an upper or main carrycot or consider something like the Silvercross Surf Baby snug which would flatten the Prach seat out. But having used the latter with the Surf, it feels very exposed with the baby on the surface and I personally wouldn't use it with the Peach. With the Surf you do get a cover so it's not as bad. Sorry that there's no better news.

Thanks Tiggy. Do you think it's worthwhile getting a main carrycot as well? I might have found one second hand.

If you can afford it, and want to use the Peach as a single, then I would certainly get it.
