which footmuff?

After long deliberation, we finally decided to buy an Uppababy Vista for our new baby. Whilst looking, we were told that the is a bit overpriced and not very useful (does not zip open fully), so are now looking for alternatives. In a way I like to buy so so was looking at some locally made footmuffs. So far I have found:

  • Snunkie Many options, looking good
  • Poshbugs Highly rated on this forum, bit unclear how or what she makes
  • Madaboutprams Ebay vendor who also sells footmuffs.
  • Sia's Stylish Strollers Mentioned once or twice on mumsnet. Seems to be a bit cheaper than the other options.
  • Willow Tree Designs Not certain if they are still making them - I cannot really seem to find their active facebook page
  • Chunkle Munkle (where do they come up with these names) is unfortunately not active anymore.

Right, that is how far I have come up to now. I now have some further questions to ensure I get the perfect footmuff:

  1. Do you have experience with any of these footmuff makers and (if possible) do you have any links/photos of your footmuff pushchair?
  2. Are there any other WAHM/WAHD that make footmuffs?
  3. Is it a great benefit that Snunkie have their footmuff specifically adjusted to the Uppababy or does this not really matter?
  4. I think you only need a footmuff from 6 months onwards, is that correct?
  5. Are there any people with an Uppababy Vista in Carlin Green that have a (custom-made) footmuff in a specific colour that unique colour of green and not all colours seem to work.

Thanks for your help!

I have a friend who has got 2 sets of Snunkie hoods/baby nests/footmuffs for her Bugaboo and they are lovely, really gorgeous. So much so I bought a deposit slot to buy one for myself but there were just too bloody many fabric choices and after about 6 attempts to place my order the headache won and I still have the unused deposit 18 months later.

If you go on Facebook, the Snunkie page is quite active and there are tons of pictures of footmuffs etc that they have made.

I have a Buggysnuggle and it's really nice. We didn't need it until DD went into her pushchair at about 7 months, before that she was in a pram carrycot so we just used blankets.

I've not used them but Fluffy Muffy are another one www.facebook.com/pages/Fluffy-Muffy/168848276508565 and madaboutprams on Ebay www.ebay.co.uk/sch/madaboutprams/m.html?item=110835985567&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649&_trksid=p4340.l2562

Shame Sarah/Chunkle Munkle isn't operational as I thought she was head and shoulders above the rest snunkie person was very rude to me so I wouldn't ever buy one now

  1. Eh?

I have 2 Snunkie footmuffs for my Phil and Teds Explorer.

They are amazing quality and lovely and thick too. The kids are so cozy in them. I have had so many compliments about them.
