Do you have a pushchair and a Mini? Come, talk to me

Hi all

I'm only 9 weeks pregnant but have started doing research into pushchairs. I think what we are after is a travel system, but I'm completely new to all of this. A HUGE concern with buying a pushchair is that our main transport at the moment is a mini cooper! Hubby is planning on getting a new car when baby is born (don't fancy getting a baby and a dog in a mini!) but the mini will still be my main transport. And, if you have one, you will know how TINY WEENY the boot is.
So, I've been looking at the quinny zapp xtra which folds up very small, but was wondering if anyone could recommend a nice from birth pushchair which will fit in my mini.

Thanks in advance

Yes - absolutely!! Go and have a look at the Easywalker June If you click on the middle green tab for reviews and information, it even shows a family using a June in a Mini. Easywalker have used a mini a lot for their promotions. Its a really dinky little pushchair but the seat is huge. The carrycot folds very flat. If I were in your shoes, the June is the pushchair I would be buying. In fact I am going to buy one anyway because my 3 and a half year old looked fantastic in the seat unit. When I get them live I will link you to the photos.

I was going to say the June too!

Try a Babystyle oyster and Bugaboo Bee if you want parent facing. Although I'm not sure whether the carrycot would fit for the oyster, worth a try though.

I personally wouldn't get a zapp star for a newborn. It's a bucket type seat which isn't good for newborns and the recline is only good when forward facing, which is just weird and stupid IMO!

TBH I used the Zapp Xtra with my young baby but I put a Bugaboo Cocoon it in (simply because my baby looked too exposed) but with the footrest up and the cocoon in (which kind of evens out the bucket seat), I was happy using it. The two issues I had with the Zapp were a) that the chassis when new is very stiff. I usually recommend buying a second hand older Zapp, stripping it and then putting on an Xtra seat and b) if you plan to switch between car seat and seat unit modes, then don't! Buy two chassis (you can pick them up so cheaply second hand) because removing the Xtra seat adaptors leaves you at high risk of losing them and at £30 a go, a spare chassis would be cheaper second hand!

But I still think the June or Itsmylastone's other suggestions would be far better.

Actually. Go and have a look at the new Babystyle Oyster Gem because it looks rather good and folds very neatly.

I have a mini and the mothercare MY4 fits in it. I also have a maclaren triumph which fits in as well.
