Pushchair similar to Phil&Teds

Hi,

my employers are looking for a new buggy as the Bugaboo Bee is getting to big for the little boy I look after, who is ten month old. They would like a buggy similar to the Phil&Teds ones, as you can use it at as singleton and then for a second child should they choose to have another one. The Phil&Teds is a bit too heavy and wouldn't fit into their car very easily. Are there any alternatives?

Yes there are lots. Go and have a look around Best Buggy here at the tandems section and a large number of those are single to double converters. I would suggest looking at the iCandy Peach, Oyster Max, iCandy Pear, Jane Twone, Baby Jogger City Select and others....do come back when you have had a look!

Thanks so much. The iCandy ones are too small.

I'd look again at the iCandy peach. The seats seem small but they aren't, and you can take the liners out to make more room. Look at the photos of the girl in it, she's really tall!

You haven't seen the boy yet! He is 10 months, 80cm and about 13kg.

Children's torsos really don't grow much from around 9 months. My 18 month old daughter's grown 10cm in height, but she's only about 2cm taller when sitting down since she was 9 months.

The Peach seat is tall and the hoods slide up the chassis to give more headroom. I'm not saying they should definitely get a Peach, but I definitely wouldn't rule it out on seat size. I can't remember what the Pear seats are like though.

If you compare the various tandems on the comparisons section of Best Buggy, you'll be able to work out which seats are the biggest.

It looks like it will be the Phil&Teds after all.
