phil and teds instructions

we have inherited a P&T from a mate who bought it from another mate 3yr ago. I think it's about 5/6yrs old. Some accessories say "E3" the cocoon says "explorer". The second (bottom) seat that slots on and off states "not suitable for a child under 6 months old" and is a fairly upright seat so how does the cocoon bit attach/work? Does the baby go on top with toddler underneath? Top seat does recline flat? I've always imagined/seen baby uinderneath and rtoddle ron top. The instructions are long since gone. Mate who had it last only used it as a single. Mate who originally owned it has no idea where instructions are or how it might work (but is sure he passed on all parts but not the lost instructions) when he sold it to middle owner

You should have two little hinged tubes that slot on where the front bar sits. You then put the double seat on that for the toddler, recline underneath seat flat and put the cocoon on that.
If it's anything like the Dash, that is.

it sounds like an e3, do you have 2 elbows that clip on the front where the bumperbar goes

no "elbows" and no bumperbar. Fixing point for bumperbar seems to be capped off with little plastic plugs. Shall speak to mate who had it originally as I know he says he found some bits of metal in the garage that he thought might be car seat adapters - perhaps they are actually the elbows (hoping) if not where can I buy "elbows" or is my bargain double buggy actually a total waste of money?

the plugs can be removed, ebay is your best bet
or here but you need to work out what model you have and what version, read the top of the page as it tells you how to work it out

does it have anything on the harness part or a small label on the hood side saying anything

becclestown · 23/03/2012 21:27

I had DC2 sitting underneath at 3m, as he is big and didn't like being squashed in the cocoon. With a fleecy liner it's fine IMO, similar angle to a door bouncer or car seat. So if you have no luckwith extra bits, just sling baby until they're a bit bigger.

easterbunnywantssomeicandy · 23/03/2012 21:29

as we are only guessing its an e3

becclestown · 23/03/2012 21:29

Chair bouncer obv.

sleeplessinderbyshire · 23/03/2012 21:50

Pretty sure from the P&T website that it's an E3V2 so seems I can get the hinges for £8 or so. No bumper bar but DD has never really liked one and by the time DC2 is in the top bit I suspect we'll have given up on the P&T and be back with the cameleon and DD walking
