Pimp my pushchair!

Ok, as you know I have been struggling with the Herqules, and am using the urban detour daily now. However there are niggles - it only faces forward, and the hood is a bit pants.

The crucial point seems to be the wheels - the urban detour has narrow air tyres whilst the Herqules has wide solid ones which scoot around on the mud.

So, could I take the wheels off the Herqules and replace them with air tyre ones? The local garage would do any welding if needed!

What do you think? Worth a try?

On a separate point, what do people think of these bike trailers which double up as pushchairs???

I can't help with the former part of your query, but we have a Croozer which is fab as a bike trailer, but a complete PITA to convert say outside a shop into a pushchair. We had a Taga bike and that was much easier to convert. With the Croozer I can't lift the bike off easily with both children on board. The trailer needs lifting a fair way into the air (supposedly with no children in but what are you meant to do with a crawling baby whilst you unhook the arm??) to be removed. Then the pram wheel is put back on. Plus even when you do that its not the best pushchair to push. I would have liked a Baby Jogger POD but despite asking repeatedly, its not coming to the UK. One of my friends is going to import one at a lot of cost Envy....completely!!
But its fab as a bike trailer and I used it all last summer :)
