Why did I not know about this new P&T?

Promenade. Want. Now

Shall I sell my Explorer.....?

Go and see it first - definitely! I have heard people come away feeling mixed about it ie good but not worth the money. Plus the handle only really has two useful settings and one is a long way away. There's also another new P&Ts on the way called the Dot which is more like a compact Explorer.

frazzlerock · 14/03/2012 21:06

I'd love to see it but I don't think it's out yet..?

The Promenade - yes its been out a couple of months now. A good independent P&Ts retailer should have one on display.

frazzlerock · 15/03/2012 08:11

I assumed, as it's on pre-order from Peppermint, it wasn't out yet... duh
Off to John Lewis for me!

Has anyone else watched the advert on the official website/youtube. Are they serious?! The fact that they advertise a pushchair by parking it next to a jet/Bentley/LV handbag is too tacky for words.... what are they thinking?! I almost feel like writing it off as the advert is so awful!

lynlynnicebutdim · 15/03/2012 09:59

To own one you would have to own a Bentley and a private jet! Fully equipped they run to about £900 which in my humble opinion is ridiculous!

Tiggywunkle · 15/03/2012 10:13

I don't know which you have seen, but the more recent pared down version is much less awful than the first one I saw.

bigyellow · 15/03/2012 11:32

Hi
I have just bought one for my 2 year old DS and new baby due next month. I am really pleased with it so far and it looks great. The only negative comments I have is that it takes up most of the boot space in my VW Golf and can be quite heavy when lifting it up over curbs. Although I have just got rid of my bugaboo bee so anything would be heavy after that.
If you have any specific questions I can try to answer them for you but overall, I am very happy with it.

cairnterrier · 16/03/2012 21:32

OP have just started a thread about this but if you do get one (I've just taken delivery of mine) try this promenade package as the best value I could find. Promenade, doubles kit, rain covers and fleece liner for £654, delivery free.

HTH.

Beadley · 19/03/2012 15:06

Cairn Terrier, I'm looking at that package too - does it include two two covers or just one?

cairnterrier · 19/03/2012 19:36

Two rain covers ( I did wonder about that). The only thing that I think that I'll need extra will be the full sun covers for the summer. If you've not ordered one yet, would it be worth ringing and see if they'll do you a deal since the delivery is free and organised anyway??

Oh and the fleece liner is gorgeous, really thick and cosy. I want one for myself quite frankly Grin

Beadley · 19/03/2012 22:28

Haha Cairn Terrier - we live in Ireland..... We don't get a summer! The last thing I'd need is sun covers!!! I wish!

Great to know about the rain covers - think I'll order tomorrow. what age is your eldest? Does s/he have plenty of room in it?

Wish I could see one IRL but no where here seems to be stocking it yet, or have any plans to.... Mysterious....

DS is 2.2 but is on 91st centile for height so a tall little chap! He's got plenty of headroom, the only perhaps slight moan is that the bit that his feet rest on could maybe do with being a bit longer but having said that, he fell fast asleep in it yesterday on it's first outing so it's obviously a big issue for him!!

PS Beadley - did we have a conversation about this earlier in the year?? I'm sure I remember chatting about it with someone from Ireland. Anyway, if so I've put a review about it vs the Britax B-Dual further down the thread. Hope you're as pleased with it as we are Smile

cairnterrier · 19/03/2012 22:48

Sorry Beadley, here's the thread - few opinions from other people as well.

Beadley · 20/03/2012 09:37

Thanks for that Cairn - don't think that was me - have only joined up recently! That said, if I was involved in a discussion it would probably be about buggies - I'm a bit of a buggy fiend!

have just read the last sentence of my last post - obviously I meant that hope you're pleased with the Promenade, rather than the thread I started about it.

Beadley · 22/03/2012 15:21

Thanks for the advice - have finally ordered after deliberating for months!

Oh and I was thrilled with the thread you started! :)

Beadley · 27/03/2012 11:59

My promenade arrived today! It was very easy to put together - managed it myself at 37 weeks pregnant with no tears!!!

My initial impression is that it is gorgeous. My last buggy was a bee so nothing will compare to that for nippiness but hey it's a double.

Got it from the link you recommended Cairn Terrier but they only sent one raincover - will email and enquire about that.

Havent tried it out yet but my two year old seems impressed and I'm looking forward to collecting him from crèche and taking it for a spin.
