Chosing between Oyster, Strawberry and Cherry... and the winner is....

... the Oyster!!!

I really thought I was leaning towards the Cherry but when all three were lined up together, the process of elimination began!

I discounted the Strawberry fairly quickly. It was my favourite to look at but was just too heavy to lift in and out of the car. Also, the basket wasn't very deep and I will need a good space for book bags / lunch boxes.

DH didn't like the seat position of the Cherry the first time we looked at it. The back doesn't recline separately which we both preferred on the Oyster. The hood on the Oyster also seemed better with the viewing panel and being able to get it low down... no more pegging cotton blankets on to shade a sleeping toddler! Also liked the sunshade, something I've not had before but have wanted. It is very slightly heavier than the Cherry but not noticable when playing with it in the shop. I also liked the option of being able to change the colour pack because I am very fickle and can never make my mind up

The price of the Oyster was also much better, I prefered the carrycot too. So, we have a winner which has been ordered and I'm very pleased :)

Well done for choosing! The Oyster is excellent! Did you find the hidden insect net under the seat?! I wish companies did built in raincovers in the same way.

we have it, good choice! have been using it happily for 7months now. one suggestion (which we havent got round to yet) is to get the rubber wheels. we havent yet and its a bit difficult sometimes on grass or cobble stones.

SoozyWoozy · 10/03/2012 19:09

The lady in the shop was fantastic, gave us a complete tour of all 3 and talked through my pros and cons :) Yep, saw the hidden net - what a gem :) I saw the tyres as extra, thought they would be a good idea so thanks for the tip!

What was also lovely was the lady confirmed my dislike of Britax buggies LOL! She said the only good one was the B-Dual, all of the others they have had so many problems with that they were no longer stocking them!

She also agreed with many of the comments I have seen about iCandy's post-sale customer service being a bit poor.

It has made it all so real!

Definitely buy the air wheels. They're about £25 and worth every single penny and more. :) It's a really good all rounder and a really good price. Tiggy, where's this insect net under the seat? Is it inside the zip under the footrest? I've never looked inside it.

SoozyWoozy · 10/03/2012 19:31

Hypatia yes that's where it is. It has an elastic top which fits over the hood. It goes up and over iyswim. I think on the Plush it was zipped into the hood itself, but that was really fiddly and got caught in the zip as there wasn't much space for it. I think she also said that the Plush was being discontinued.

I love my Oyster. And my standard wheels have been banished to the cupboard in favour of the air tyres. They're worth the money, no doubt about it! Smile

Soozy, you and I were on the same track, and I think we've just reached the same conclusion! We're yet to order -- just the colour debate to be had. Phew.

SoozyWoozy · 13/03/2012 19:54

Tilly I thought the strawberry was going to be my winner, until I had it side by side with the Oyster. I don't think the Oyster is as lovely to look at, but we got so much more for our money, and it was a lot lighter - which was the deal breaker as my pelvis can't handle much!

Veronica I went for the tomato (why can't they call it red?!) colour pack. The shop had loads in stock though, and I'm wondering if I would have been better to wait and see what gender baby is before deciding... I also liked the ocean, electric blue and claret colours! When baby is here, I might get a second colour pack to keep it fresh I can't think of a decent excuse for spending more

I rang today and added the air tyres. I was going to add in the footmuff too, but the shop had included that in the deal they'd given us so I was really :)
