I am starting childminding and want to purchase a recommended 4 seater stroller, also looking at 3 seaters. Need it to be as light as possible, but also comfortable for the childrens. Thanks

I dont think you have much choice of Quad pushchairs. The two most commonly seen in the UK are the ABC Adventure Buggy Quad or the T4 Quad Jogger. These do crop up on Ebay from time to time. Alternatively some of the Educational supply catalogues sometimes have trolley type affairs which take several children.

There isn't an awful lot more choice in triple pushchairs. The ABC Adventure Buggy company make several types. Baby Jogger make a triple - there's been one on Ebay for some time, but the seats dont lie flat. There is a Mountain Buggy triple and a T3 Triple. Valco do a triple which has a toddler seat on front which looks almost identical to the T3 but its something huge like 10kgs lighter. The Peg Perego Triplette is the only inline one currently being produced. There is also another pushchair that crops up on Ebay from time to time - I think its an Easylife one without looking it up - that has a toddler seat on the front too.

With most of these you would either be forced to import one, or buy one second hand.

However there is one further issue - I believe as a childminder you can only use pushchairs which have been British Standards safety approved???? I might be wrong there, but its something to check. This would therefore leave you with no real choices. I know the only pushchair of the above that you can buy new which meet British Safety standards is the T3 Triple. I dont believe the T4 is approved but DO check. I suspect the Mountain Buggy Triple will be British Safety approved but they can only be bought second hand and are very wide.

Have a look at Best Buggy under the triple and Quad sections for more information on most of these.

the t3 and t4 seem to be the ones of choice round here for childmnders.
