Double/tandem pushchair???

We have a just 2 year old and are expecting a baby in June. I'm really confused about a low budget (or second hand) double pushchair. 2 year old still has her afternoon nap in her pram so think I need something.

I want to be able to get it through the front door and ideally in the car (but I have a Ford Ka so unlikely with 2 kids!).

A tandem buggy looks good, e.g. Cosatto duet tandem, but not ideal for a newborn (?) and the front toddler seats look small. Am I better with more sturdy one and forgetting going out on my own in the car?

Any advice please! Confused

Yes, you don't have a hope of getting an umbrella fold tandem in a Ka :) They are very long folded - usually over a metre long. The Cosatto is 120cms long when folded! I don't know how much space there is in a Ka boot or inside but my suggestion would be to at least look at / try in your boot / inside your car an iCandy Peach and a Baby Jogger City Select. If those two don't fit - the City select seats are flat so easier to slide into gaps but the chassis is square-ish folded so may be too big - then I honestly don't know what else would. Have a look here for folded photos and measurements.

I have 2 year old and a baby, I use a single pushchair for the 2 years old and the baby goes in the sling (I've tried doubles but for all sorts of reasons they don't work so well for me). If you had a sling you could carry on as normal, seems a shame not to get out in the car if you have the chance.

The sling fits up to age 2 or 3 so should keep us going for a while! There are some makes here to look at if it helps thread on MN about sling for a new born...

What about a phil and ted? If I removed all three wheels (quick release not much of a faff) on my vibe it fitted in fils KA. Just sold it for £150 2nd hand aswell.
