I reluctantly sold my Gecko last week on eBay for £80. I was a little disappointed but it didn't have the carrycot fabric so I guess that put bidders off. I sold it in an attempt to raise funds and, under other circumstances, would have kept hold of it because I love it!

Anyway, I was just window shopping on Gumtree and it's on there for £140 Shock!!

I'm obviously far too attached to that buggy because I wanted to email her offering her the £80 she had paid so that I could have it back Grin. I am aware that I sound slightly deranged!

There's not really a point to my thread, just wanted to tell someone Grin.

Have a Brew.

Am having pushchair crisis. Not related to yours but am [shocked] at how much its upset me! So maybe I understand a little how you are feeling!

Frontpaw · 27/02/2012 14:04

Was it definitely the same one?

buttonmoon78 · 27/02/2012 14:04

Or even Shock !

:(

I hope whatever forced you to sell it gets sorted out soon - it's crap being so short of cash you have to sell things you don't want to.

Button - thanks!

Frontpaw - I'd know my Gecko anywhere BlushGrin. It is in the same area and is for the pushchair without carrycot...too much of a coincidence.

Chipping - thanks but please don't feel sorry for me. The raising of funds is because I want to buy a house but don't make enough profit to get a mortgage so I'm trying to sell as many non-essentials as possible to see how much I can get and hopefully, in the meantime, I can think of a way to get the bank to lend me the rest! Once I have the house I want, I will be saving for another Gecko!

Chipping - that doesn't read well...I meant there's no crisis that has led to me having to raise funds.

They won't sell it for that though! Wink That seems to be about as much as you'd get with a carrycot, maybe a bit more with extras. I'm about to sell mine to put towards tuition fees/nursery fees/rent/all the other things I can't afford and I will really miss it too. Sad I need to fix my brake first but I never seem to have time to do it.

Hyp - good point!

Oh I feel Sad for you...I know it's silly but I know how much you can get attached to a pram! Blush
similar thing happened to me on ebay - I sold my bugaboo cameleon with pink fabrics and accessories for a bargain price as I needed the money quickly. (used obviously but absolutely pristine - although you could tell they werent brand new out of the packet)
later saw that the buyer had sold the pink fabrics, footmuff and bag on for more than she paid me for the whole pushchair! Fair enough she probably kept the pram and sold the pink coz she had a boy but I still felt a bit put out for some reason!
Although I did snigger a little when I saw her negative feedback for the sale of the items saying 'not impressed as seller said these were all brand new when clearly they arent' ha ha!

if you are in a situation where you do want need the Gecko back, just get a bunch of friends/family to offer her stupid amounts like 50/60/70 quid, she will think its not worth anything like what she is asking for it, then you offer her £80 and yours will seem like a great offer! thats what i'd do anyway Grin

Mogs - Oh that's good that it's not for food or shoes for the kids :)

It's a shame, but try to put it out of your mind and look forward to your new house Grin
