Lullaboo Baby - anyone had any dealings with them?

I ordered a BJCS package from Lullaboo Baby approx 5 weeks ago. We paid by CC and the card was debited straight away and we were issued with a receipt...and that was the last i have heard from them. I was told that there was a few weeks delay in delivery but that was 5 weeks ago.

I have emailed twice to enquire and have not had anything back and have tried ringing the store and get either an engaged tone or the phone rings out.

I just noticed also that the front page of their website is not working and is "on hold".

Does anyone know if they have gone into liquidation? I really hope not! i would expect to have been contacted by an administrator of they had but i havent even had that!

Help!

I looked at the website a couple of weeks ago as I wanted to visit the store and it said the Deeside store was now shut but they were hoping to open the new shop in Llanduno in Feb or March.

lynlynnicebutdim · 20/02/2012 11:06

god, i hope then it is just a snafoo with moving premises then. Will keep trying to contact them and in the mean time pray, a lot!

They have a new shop just up the road called the Pram Store or Pram Shop. But they should still be answering Lullaboo e-mails.

lynlynnicebutdim · 23/02/2012 11:04

Tiggy, do you have any direct contact with them? I still cant get through on the phone (rings off or is engaged) on 01244 812 207 and my email(s) remain unanswered.

Googling the company there are lot of people on babycenter who seem to have had the same problem as me and i have had a few PM's off others on here as well in the same boat.

Getting very worried. If you do have any personal contact with them would it be a huge imposotion to ask you to ask them what the flipping heck is going on?

I dont want to have to sick the "big bad credit card company" on them but that is the reality i am faced with, that and trading standards i think.

No, I don't have any contact, but I have heard from two other sources this week (other than the one above) that the new shop had to shut due to the lease and had planned to reopen this week in Llandudno, in a different shop to the original one they had earmarked for there. It does sound like they have had to move fast but the lack of communication is not good :(

Hiya, I hate to say i have had no end of trouble from this company and if you google the name you will see many other people who have had the same problem. I ordered my travel system in September 2011 and eventually received it two weeks after my baby was born in January 2012. I cant even begin explain the amount of phone calls and e-mails i made as i would be on here all night. All i can say is every time i contacted them there was excuse after excuse and i am surprised i finally got my order in the end. They do still owe me a footmuff but i have given up on ever receiving this as every time i ring now i cant contact anyone and they never reply to the e-mails you send. I was so patient with them for months as i believed their excuses and thought it was just me it was happening to but now i have read so many cases like mine i know its happening all the time. I think i was lucky and got my order in time as now i notice its impossible to get through on the phone and the website has disappeared and the shop has gone. I too was told by Dan and Analise they were opening a shop in Llandudno but i now have my doubts.

I really hope you do manage to get your order but if i were you i would contact your credit card company and try and get your money back. We tried for 8 years to have our baby and had 4 attempts of IVF before we conceived. As daft as it may sound I dreamed for years about getting our pram and the excitement it would bring and Lullaboo baby totally ruined this experience for us and caused us so much stress it was unbelievable. Even if their company has had problems this does not excuse the terrible customer service, lies and ignorance. If you do ever get to speak to Dan he will be very friendly and apologetic and give you lots of explanations but trust me it is all rubbish he will not follow through with his promises. Im sorry if i sound so pessimistic and i really hope you get what you ordered but speaking from experience you will have a fight on your hands.

I paid for and received a Quinny Zapp Xtra in November 2010 so thought rather highly of the company.

Unfortunately, it needed a small repair and Lullaboobaby said a photo was not sufficient and then sent a courier to collect my buggy in January 2012 as it was covered under the manufacturers warranty. I now cannot get hold of them by email, phone etc. Tried on a daily basis at different times. Today I notice the main website no longer works.

So I have now spoken with Quinny direct as they say they have received my buggy, repaired it and sent it back to Lullaboobaby. They are chasing them for me but I may have to make a formal claim.

My advice is find the manufacturers number of the buggy you have ordered and call direct and explain that their distributor lullaboobaby has basically committed theft!

Good luck!

Quinny's number is 01284 413141

So reassuring in a way to know that I am not alone in my dreadful experience of this company. Buying a pushchair is supposed to be an exciting experience but dealing with Lullaboo Baby over the past 5 months has been horrendous. I ordered a Bugaboo Bee from them in October and didn't get it delivered until early February and am still awaiting a baby cocoon from them but to be honest, i've lost all hope of getting it. They never answer calls (they must be aware that most will be complaints from their customers) and their customer service is, I think, the worst i've ever experienced. False promises and no communication. I hope you all get the items you ordered from them! I would definitely urge anyone who may be sucked in (like I was) by their competitive prices to save on stress and instead spend a few more £££ and buy from a reputable retailer.

APPALLING COMPANY!

Katarina262 · 27/02/2012 11:07

Just wanted to add - I've read other customers postings that say they are still awaiting full refunds from weeks ago so for anyone that has bought from them recently, i'd definitely try and contact your credit card companies to see if you can cancel the transactions or get any rebate. Good luck!

Katarina262 · 27/02/2012 11:32

Sorry - me again! Just checked for Lullaboo Baby website and the whole thing has been pulled down (instead of a holding page saying it is being updated). I think they will soon be starting to trade under a different name because Lullaboo Baby has such a bad reputation.

lynlynnicebutdim · 27/02/2012 11:39

i just tried their website and see it has indeed been pulled. I agree they are likley to start up again under a new name.

I call every day at least twice and the phone rings out. I have emailed numerous times and get no response. I think now after 5 weeks of no contact and no buggy it is fair to say that they cannot or will not fill my order.

Sigh.

It was such a good deal! Have found another company that will do it for £50 more but my husband is going to explode when i tell him we will need to get the credit card company to cancel the transaction and apply for a refund through visa. it was hard enough to get him to agree to getting a new buggy in the first place!

Hi Everyone,
I never usually post or comment but Lullaboo Baby are a DISGRACEFUL company. I ordered my bugaboo bee+ in May 2011 and waited until August for it to arrive, and my footmuff (same old story according to earlier posts on here) arrived in Nov after id pestered them repeatedly. I was always told that they were sorting it, or it wasnt their problem as there was a delay in getting stock and so forth, always fobbing me off.

Ive had a problem with my bugaboo wheels since November making the pram DANGEROUS!! I have been trying to sort it out with them and last i heard (about 5 weeks ago) they were on the way to me and analise was going to speak to dan and then call me back. no call back, and no contact since. no wheels arrived either.

Yesterday I contacted Bugaboo myself and they have confirmed that Lullaboo Baby never requested new wheels for my chassis number. Lullaboo ARE FULL OFF LIES & BULLS&*T!!!!! Bugaboo are now going to send me the wheels direct.

Like everyone else, i call a million times a day, just to have the phone ring out or an engaged tone. no e-mails have been replied to either.

After waiting so long for my Footmuff I complained and Dan agreed to send me a sun shade for my bugaboo as a gratuity for their delay and poor customer service, and guess what???? yep, that NEVER arrived either.

I live in North Wales and the next time im in Llandudno I will be sure to seek out their new place. I will also be informing all my work colleagues and friends and other mums NEVER to use this company or the pram store unless you leave the showroom with your goods.

I hope I, and all of you get your problems sorted soon

X

Hello all,

Lullaboobaby has gone into administration (on Feb 6th)
If you have outstanding orders with them you should receive a letter telling you about this (I got my letter today)
Hopefully you have paid by credit card in which case get on to your credit card company asap and you should get your money back
Just thought you might like to know...

Suitcase, thanks for the info. I figured this was the case and have lodged a claim with my credit card company.

Thanks for the info suitcase of dreams. Doesn't surprise me but I just hope they don't start up another company and fob more people off!

@ema85- do you know if this means we can go to bugaboo direct or another stockist should we have any future problems with our bees?

Thanks!

ema85 · 02/03/2012 22:48

I presume we can, they had no problem sending me out new wheels once they confirmed my unique chassis number they were glad to help. :)
