Help me choose a rear facing buggy

Suitable for a toddler please. Dd is nearly 3 and 11kg but I would prefer her to be rear facing. I have a bob for when we are off reading a bit more but need something else really. Was considering a bugaboo gecko/frog or maxi cosi Mura or a quinny buzz. What do you think?

I hated the Quinny Buzz. It's ridiculously wide and the front wheel is crap off road. The basket is teeny tiny, and the Buzz box is also useless and small.

My sister has a Gecko and it's lovely to push, very easy over rough ground and uphill. It's lovely and narrow too so great for shops and cafes etc. The only negatives are you have to get right under the seat to recline it and the handle isn't adjustable so not great if you're tall.

Tiggywunkle · 06/02/2012 13:29

I had a Mura (and somewhere I have a Buzz but haven't had chance to try it!). The seat is absolutely beautiful. I have never seen a seat as comfy and supportive for the child. Both my children looked comfy.
However it too is very wide with rubbish access into the basket. The fold is large - you may as well leave the Mura open to be honest! Not only is the chassis chunky folded but the seat unit is like storing a stage 2 car seat - hard and chunky. It is also heavy. It's not really a nipping about town pushchair but is great to walk with.

Ok thanks ladies. It will probably live in the car and be used on the odd occasion when we are out and about. My bob is fairly narrow for a three wheeler, but to me it has an odd fold which I find difficult to manoeuvre into the car, it's a dream to push though.

Don't get a quinny, seats very small.

What about an Hauck Infinity?

welliesandpyjamas · 06/02/2012 15:25

Mutsy 4rider light

welliesandpyjamas · 06/02/2012 15:26

Or a babystyle oyster although the seat is smaller

DonInKillerHeels · 06/02/2012 15:40

"Live in the car" means definitely NOT the Buzz. I've loved ours, actually (and its front wheel is NOT crap off the road), but it is a pain to put up and down for going in cars (though we leave it up all the time and it's fine), and the seat is now a bit too small for our 75th percentile 18 month-old.

squimlet · 06/02/2012 17:36

Ok fair enough. I have a vw sharan with the rear seats out so a big boot. S we narrowed it down to a Mura or a bugaboo?

To be honest, I think the Buzz is smaller folded than the Mura! I could get the Buzz in my boot with space, but the Mura fold was large.
I think the Bugaboo is probably the best choice although the Mura seat is nicer.

squimlet · 06/02/2012 21:35

Lol okwilllook at both . Thanks ladies

the mura is really heavy isn't it? i wouldn't want to be lifting anything too hefty in and out of a high boot too often

thisisyesterday · 06/02/2012 21:56

what you need, is one of these

squimlet · 07/02/2012 10:00

That is nice but I prefer the look of the bugaboo tbh

actually it's Tiggy's fault as she drew my attention to it some time ago!

i even e-mailed njoy to ask if they had any of their show models that they would sell me lol, but they said they'd all "gone" :(

i;m going to wait until these are available before having another baby Wink

Tiggywunkle · 07/02/2012 17:15

Hey don't blame me! Wink
The one I really want is the Uppababy Cruz :)

thisisyesterday · 08/02/2012 19:15

yeah i wouldn't mind a cruz. the njoy bubble would be for quick in and out of the car type stuff for slightly older child

both good reasons to hang off having the next baby just yet ;-)

are there any good pushchairs that are out in the US, but not here yet? only DP is off to Houston somewhen in the near future....
