Does a maxi-cosi carrycot fit the pushchair in the same way as the cabriofix car seat?

Hi there!

I am looking at a pushchair that comes with adapters for my maxi-cosi cabriofix carseat (handy!) However, there is no carrycot option (though it is from birth).

I was just wondering whether a maxi-cosi carrycot fits the same way - that is, could I use the carseat adapters to fit the carrycot to the chassis.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

They do fit the same way. Just be careful to get one of a similar weight to the one that goes with the pushchair. The new style Quinny Dreamii is light I think. And the Micralite carrycot is light too.

What is the pushchair?
It is unlikely that the carrycot would fit onto Maxi-Cosi adaptors, but its not unheard of because I believe the one carrycot would fit - but then there could well be safety implications with tipping, bending the chassis etc by doing so.

Thanks for the responses.

Pushchair is here - I'm swayed by the price and great reviews, but do want a flat carrycot also.

Will investigate the carrycot/adapters further - perhaps a trip to kiddicare is in order...

The two carrycots I mentioned definitely sit on Maxi-Cosi adapters.

The Imax is the same as the John Lewis travel system and the MyChild Pinto. YOu can buy a carrycot for it here.

HypatiaTheProcrastinator · 31/01/2012 13:39

I actually thought they came with a carrycot, I'm going to investigate further!

Sorry, only the old style Dreamii uses the MC adapters, not the new one.

This one says it comes with the carrycot, as does this one. And this is JL's carrycot.

Have a read here about what it's like. Smile

Thanks Hypatia - top tips!

Can I ask how you know they are one and the same? And why the price difference in JL, I wonder?

Good news about the carrycot!

Oh - just spotted the info about the pushchair in its different guises!

OK....the JL one and the Kiddicare one are different.
The JL one is the same as the MyChild Pinto which is linked above with the carrycot and car seat. It takes its own brand car seat not a Maxi Cosi.
The Kiddicare one does take a Maxi-Cosi seat and may be able to take a carrycot but I would not advise doing so, but if you go to Kiddicare then you could certainly try.

HypatiaTheProcrastinator · 31/01/2012 16:42

Oh no, it's not the same! I really thought it was but it's different at the front. Sorry!

MrsPlugThePlumber · 31/01/2012 18:10

Thinking about it, the kiddicare one does say from birth wheras the JL one says 6m.

I'm a bit pleased to discover they're not the same as the kiddicare ones have great reviews - the JL one not so much.

It's just the carryot issue...!
